İnput lag/unplayable

Exactly the same for me. I have done ALL troubleshooting on connection and nothing wrong.. cleared alternativ mac restarted everything.. game is sooooooo slow! And ping is often under 20ms but game is unplayable!!! Fast team but they don't skate fast... Stop telling there is a connection problem and help us out instead!? Servers just good for people in division 1 or what is going on? If we spend money on something we want we expect help to get everything work as good as possible.. or do you guys think different???

Most not all, people are in higher division because they don't have connection issue. I made a list of people and their location, win or loss, in Rivals vs me last year. I did max rivals games 3 weeks in a row. I was in division 2. The most people I played, by far, were people in Montreal or DC area, which happens to be where servers are. I play all different online games, no issue. The best connection I felt was when I played people in my area. This games population is so low they have to match people everywhere and some people will have big advantage. I was going to wait for crossplatform or crossplay whatever it was but there is no use at this point. This game is pretty bad, obviously by all the bugs and crap, you think adding server locations and fixing their * netcode is top of the list?

I am done with EA games tbh. Over the past few years everything they make is *.

@DadaruklijaI've had ~ 3 next gen Xbox consoles, 5 controllers, 2 gaming monitors, 4 hdmi cables, 2 modems, 3 ethernet cables. I've used every setting and combo possible. There's no possible hardware issue that could explain an issue that is online and offline, with other games not having this issue. 

Unlike the majority, EA can't hit me with the replace hardware line of reasoning, and given that it's offline, ditto for the usual QoS router or internet provider talk. As long as people talk about the servers (which have always been inconsistent), it gives them an excuse to bury what is a complicated issue for which they're at fault. I've not heard one rationale provided for how so many unique pieces of hardware all have an offline issue singularly with the Frostbite NHL series.

Another one of the curious irregularities I get when testing in offline free skate over the last handful of months......

I will load it up, it will feel normal-ish for several minutes, and then there's a sudden change where everything gets heavier and my player starts not inputting stick movements properly. Something happens in the middle of testing an offline mode that sinks the gameplay. 

I’m having the same issue. It seems I have to press the pass button (for example) a second or so before I want my player to pass the puck or the deke button before I want the player to deke rather than when I want the player to move. It makes the game way less fun and there are no other options available for hockey fans. It’s this game or nothing.

For what it’s worth, up until NHL 21 I quite enjoyed Franchise Mode as well but the delay in that mode (which is offline) in NHL 22 and 23 has rendered it unplayable. For the online issues I have tried everything that I’ve been able to find between here and Reddit, as well as going so far as to upgrade my internet and even bought a new PS4. The fact that the issue persists and that it happens during offline play seems to indicate that it’s a game issue and not a connection issue. I have been buying and playing these games since the original EA NHL Hockey came out on Sega Genesis in 1990 or ‘91 so I’ve literally paid thousands of dollars over the years so it’s incredibly frustrating now to have such a shoddy product.

There was most definitely a change in how the game plays, some seriously bad fat man lag.   I mean the playoff tuner kicks in but that's normal.   It's borderline unplayable right now.   I use a high end gaming monitor with a 1ms response time, 0% packet loss, sub 8ms ping on speed tests, sub 15 ms ping in game.   Hardwired in as well.   This has been an ongoing issue with NHL servers and netcode for years now.
