Not that I don't believe others have issues, but I was clear about this probably not being a server issue for me, and I don't really want my original post forgotten about after a couple pages of server talk. Because I didn't even really get anywhere with my OP.
Do any of the developers with the game read these? Like I get it's above the pay grade of EA forum support. I'd just like more concrete answers pertaining to what I brought up.
As I have previously mentioned, this is being investigated.
- 3 years ago@EA_Aljo I'm writing this politely and I expect it to remain here.
EA (nothing personal with you) might take it with a group of customers, where majority know little of network, and their first statement is "my ping is ok to another game", but many of us, let me be extreme here, do not even do such checks. We don't even check connections in Sweden, network rookie or not. We do not ping or trace. We know it's the other party's issue. That's how confident connections have become here in Sweden. To be more specific here, my every day job is dealing with networks too.
It's the same in many other regions. It's not 20 years ago, where many facing connection issues are having route problems through their ISPs, or capping their bandwidth.
I launch the game - one game shows latency of 16 ms and it's smooth. It nears peak hours, next game, same latency, but gameplay slower and then slower the game that follows. What does it tell you? Because you are not facing it, it means necessarily client's error? "Maybe" you route through a chill network and that's why, and many don't.
Reasonings on why many do not report this kind of issue are many. Not everyone checks EA forums. it's the last place people would want to visit on net. We have to play this game. Let me reiterate on it here that we have to because there is no proper competitor/competition.
Many on the other hands would think it is their connection, not EA's. Lack of knowledge here is another reasoning. As long as the game plays, and as there is no alternative, people just press button and shut it down at the end.
It's your servers, whatever way you have designed it.
You are an employee there - kindly play it fair for people who lack network knowledge and might come to doubt that it really could be their connection necessarily. Not that it can never be, but just Google. You will find similar symptoms reported on Reddit too, and again when it comes to frequency of such reports, I already explained it.
Those managers, they need to be reminded that some of the resources may be able to dedicate more hours to this issue and similar, than designing solely new pack promotions and getting them in place as soon as possible. Customer satisfaction can also lead to better financials.- 3 years ago
Yeah once again clock hit 7PM and the game became unplayable as the servers started to fill up. And yes i don't have another device using my bandwidth, double checked. I played at morning and the game felt totally different, no delay, players being responsive and agile. Is the NHL gameplay servers shared with other EA sports titles by any chance?

Our servers are not overloaded. 7:00 is prime time in most areas. It's entirely possible there is a high amount of traffic in your neighborhood that is causing this.
Thanks for all the feedback. We'll continue to monitor our servers for issues.
You mention this - "I launch the game - one game shows latency of 16 ms and it's smooth. It nears peak hours, next game, same latency, but gameplay slower and then slower the game that follows. What does it tell you? Because you are not facing it, it means necessarily client's error? "Maybe" you route through a chill network and that's why, and many don't."
I know that just because I don't have lag, it doesn't mean there are no problems. However, that's still not due to our servers. If someone is facing lag due to congestion, that's on the network they are on and out of our control.

I’m done with FIFA 23. Enjoyed it up until this weekend & the gameplay was awful. When you stop enjoying a game, it’s time to call it quits. Sick & tired of the lagging gameplay.

Hey, everyone. We are currently investigating this. An update will be provided when we have one.

@EA_AljoIt's simply a matter of fact with how the game is programmed that short term data is stored, even through closing apps, deleting apps, deleting data, system reboots. I'm ASKING why that is because it was developed to do so. The game does not restart as it did with first installation -- unlike other games I play. That part is a question, not an investigation. The investigation is if that causes an issue with the delay with how the Xbox and game communicate.
