When have you seen a boarding call in a 3v3 NHL OT?
Lol are you really this ignorant bro?
There literally is no boarding or charging penalties in 3v3 Eashl so I dunno what you’re going on about.
You know why people don’t take boarding penalties in OT in real NHL? Cause teams don’t put goon enforcers out on the ice for OT and use their skilled players cause the goons wouldn’t keep up…. Doesn’t mean that if mackinnon were to board some guy in the numbers that he wouldn’t be getting a penalty in real NHL.
again, these are the types of people EA caters and listens to, that can’t even think about what they are commenting about and think to themselves whether it even makes sense
- 3 years ago@TITAN_NHL Did I say boarding penalties were in EASHL 3v3? No. I said penalties were; many times tripping and interference calls are made and penalty shots occur in that mode. Did MacKinnon board some guy IRL? No, he hasn't.

@TITAN_NHLthe library is free, btw. You can learn to read thereWhat @TITAN_NHL is trying to say is, IRL, no - you're likely not going to see a boarding call because the flow of 3v3 IRL doesn't tend to manifest a scenario in which a player is even going to get the opportunity to board somebody. But in EA's 3v3, because of the nature of truculence, teams are specifically going for big hits because the mechanic is so balanced towards the hitter. When something like boarding happens (which it does when a team is simply gooning for hits) - they're not being called for the penalty whereas in real life, they would. Plus, it changes the entire META of 3v3 from pure hockey to "who can knock down the other team the most"
I know @MATTDALOR1AN is trying say there ARE penalties, and he's not wrong - but he's missing the point that boarding in 6v6 should be boarding in 3v3 and it's not.
This is resulting in the truculence META dominating, and it shouldn't. It ruins 3v3.
If all penalties were being called in 3v3 (which they're not) then it would discourage entire teams from using truculence builds and force players to maybe utilize more strategic methods (maybe 1 truculence, a PMK and a TWF, etd etc) to win rather than just trying to mow down the other team for odd-man rushes.

Exactly, thanks and hopefully it clarifies it for him lol

Hey, everyone. I've had to remove a couple posts. Let's watch the personal attacks, please.

I totally agree that truculence is ridiculously OP, but I also dont think I want to find out how awful defense would be without it. As it is now with the L2ing and being able to turn away from hits, without truculence you wouldnt be able to stop anyone.
This x factor crap is so bad and ruins the game, but its everywhere so they are likely going to keep forcing it down our throats.
I also completely agree with all the comparisons to how OP it is compared to poke checks and stick lifts(auto penalty). Poke checks are only effective a small percentage of the time due to how perfect it needs to be coupled with the fact that people just keep control of the puck even when it is poked quite often, and if they dont it probably goes right to their teammate in stride. That coupled with the fact that theyve removed all hitting penalties from 3's which is still a horrendous decision that just further promoted running around mindlessly hitting people.
This game is horrendously balanced

I agree without truculence, playing D would be a nightmare as it currently sits in NHL 23. That being said, that’s on EA to balance stick checking to the point that it’s not the case. Right now there literally is no balance in NHL 23, so I’m not holding my breath
Whoever honestly made the decision to take checking penalties out of 3v3, when it’s not being actually deemed an “arcade mode” which is what 3s eliminator is for, should honestly be fired, and/or never be taken seriously again when bringing an opinion forward at EA.

I woud say, problem is, that Truculence gives you more time to do a late hit. Puck was already played but late hit comes to smash player down to the ice. I would say, implementation of truculence is bad. Yes, sure, you can do big hits with it, but late hits should not be allowed, thats a penalty for sure.
- 3 years ago@Ampereturn I wouldn't say this is a truculence issue. Late hits have always been a thing for D-men. I don't know how many times I've picked up the puck in the defensive end, made a pass out the zone, that pass has been received, and I still get blasted by a forward even without truculence. This is where I usually get my share of injuries as well.

Hitting is pretty much the only effective defensive tool we have left, and without truculence its pretty inconsistent. That said, assuming what folks are saying is true about late hits, and other non-calls happening. I am totally OK with pens being enforced as they should
- 3 years ago@IceLion68 A trait shouldn’t break a whole clubs 3v3 game because someone can sit behind their blue line lining up charges and it not being a penalty. I don’t care about getting banned on the forums but whatever dumb * thought it was a good idea not to have charges and boards and elbows in 3s needs to be fired immediately because where in tf does that happen in the NHL where those wouldn’t be called in 3v3 over time? Do they just think the refs stop calling them since it’s 3v3? Those cheesy meat heads builds need nerfed and the best way to do it is not by nerfing the trait but actually adding penalties for the blatant late hits and charges.

@IAmAchievedTell your D-men stop giving you suicide passes, dump the puck, skate in any direction other than a straight line, or have your forward partner near you to take the puck after the hit or near to receive a touch pass after you get hit. Not that hard to avoid someone with Truck if you know they're sitting on the blue line waiting for you, lol.

@IceLion68The hilarious thing is that hitting isn't even defense. It's an all-or-nothing play that takes you out of position. And you never see it in real 3v3 in the NHL because it would almost always result in the player ending up in Narnia.

Exactly where my thoughts are at. Ah well too many good games coming out in the next bit to continue to waste time with this one

This guy clearly doesn’t play the mode…

@Deeboo_91Lmfao if it was that easy no one would use truculence. The hit assist on it is just completely unnecessary. And it’s bold of you to assume that I don’t do that lmfao. But ignore the late hits after I already passed the puck and here comes the meat head with truculence smashing me taking all my stamina even though I already done passed the puck or dumped it. I didn’t even ask to nerf the trait either so you’re just talking to talk, I asked for them to add penalties and that will stop all the cornball meat head 6’6 enforcers or power forwards to stop trying to cheese that trait when they know they can actually cost them a game with a charge or boarding. My teammate and I are top 50 in points and a top 50 club it’s not hard to beat them it’s just a nuisance that they break 3s because of the late hits that lead to breakaways
- 3 years ago@TITAN_NHL I was 120-37-5 last year in 3's clubs. It's just too easy to be fun. Quick pass off or dump the puck. I'm a D-man. I get blasted by forwards with Truck all the time, but I know when to move the puck before that happens. Oh well, lol.
- 3 years ago@IAmAchieved Truck is the meta because no other tools are working and it actually works well. Don't get mad at people using it. Tuners and updates change the meta. Again, if you're getting blasted by Truck and getting frustrated, you need to change your game up.
- Ampereturn3 years agoSeasoned Vanguard@Deeboo_91 With truculence zone ability you have an extra time to do the late hit. That's what I was talking about.

It’s 2 options, either you don’t play 3s at all, or your well below average at it and ignorant to the real fact of what makes it OP. I’m leaning towards the ignorance side of things so let me explain it to you again.
You continue to say pass the puck faster, or dump it… Yet you’re missing the fact that every time you pass the puck, you’re getting blasted 2-3 seconds later, which means you’re taken out of the play… a GOOD truculence team will ensure that at least 1 member of your team is on the ice at all times, which means you’re essentially shorthanded all game long and don’t have that person as an option to pass to anymore because they are on the ice….
The “pass faster” mentality would work if goon builds were realistic and not only a 5% speed difference from tiny snipers and danglers in skating attributes, and there was no 3 second hitting window after someone moves the puck. That skating speed allows these builds to always be within that 2-3 second window of hitting someone.
You’re essentially telling people to play around the fact it’s broken,, when you simply can’t, and if you think you can, again I’ll be willing to challenge anyone in here with my full truculence team against your small build team and we can see how it goes if you need clarity.
- 3 years ago@TITAN_NHL Lol. Please don't make me throw my stats out here again. I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion that I don't play 3's or am below average when I'm not the one on here complaining about yet another defensive tool that should be nerfed or more penalized in some way. I mostly play 5's and 6's, and there are whole teams that use Truck and my teams love to play those types of teams. However, you're telling me with the entire ice that you have in 3's, with all the tools you have going for you this year as a forward, that you can't get by a player with that one perk? And I'm the below average one??
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ - 3 years ago@Ampereturn You don't need Truck for late hits. Like I said before, I'm a D-man and I get laid out ALL the time trying to move the puck out of the zone when my pass recipient has already received the pass. You also have to take into account that disciplined players will take less penalties also. Again, late hits is a mechanics problem, not a Truck problem.
- Ampereturn3 years agoSeasoned Vanguard@Deeboo_91 Yep, understood, but from my point of view, it is clearly visible that with Truculence ability player has a bit more time to do late hit in comparison to the player not usung this ability. This is what I'm experiencing.
- 3 years ago@Deeboo_91 Lmfao you’re lying right? It was meta in 22 and guess what? You can spam poke check, stick lifts, but guess what people still ran? Truculence because it carries people who suck on defense and the way you’re defending it, it’s giving me the vibe you’re not good defensively either. I love the poke checks and stick lifts now BECAUSE YOU CANT SPAM IT. Show me in the NHL where those meat heads are on the ice for 25 minutes a game doing 15 hits per game. Don’t worry I’ll wait. You’ll be digging in the archives back to the 1980s. I already argued with you about Truculance so it’s obvious you still use it lmfao. Like I said I’m top 50 in points and a top 50 club. We can beat them it’s still stupid they’re allowed to get late hits which would be a penalty in real hockey. You’re clearly a fan of it because you lack defensive capabilities with the R1 button and X.
- 3 years ago@TITAN_NHL You’re arguing you on deaf ears. He don’t listen, I argued with him on the 22 forums and he still sat there and defended truclulance with his life. It’s obvious he uses it and needs it to play defense instead of being better with pokes and stick lifts.
