NHL 23 on Xbox Series S is frozen
My game of NHL 23 is currently frozen when simulating between shifts.
I shut it down at 9am and came back to it at 10:30pm with the same issue in the same spot.
how can I fix this?

It's possible your save is corrupt. Can you start close out of NHL 23 and try again? If it continues, you'll unfortunately need to use a different save or start over.
Always make sure you save and exit instead of just switching to another app or shutting down your system. This can help prevent saves from being corrupted.
