@Nammer604 I only made it halfway through before it became too frustrating to watch. Within the first minute alone, I saw enough of this games flaws to want to rage quit watching a yt vid. Lol. It's ridiculous that nothing has been done with all the feedback this year. Almost all comments I read EVERYWHERE are negative but this is the year gameplay gets left alone and they cancel tuners? It just doesn't make sense and isn't fair to us in the least bit. The biggest takeaway I got from the vid is how offense always gets the advantage on loose pucks.You poke the puck only for it to unrealistically take a weird route right to their teammates. Or the off player will reach through bodies to get it before the def man who's feet it's between can grab it. Or how about when. You lay a hit, and he somehow gets up, shakes off the hit and keeps going with the puck while your def player stares at it deciding if he wants it or not. What's sad is these aren't even new complaints. Most of this has existed for several years,...generations even.

I don't want to just call "bad defending" but incidental contact was heavily nerfed a game or two ago so that's why the carrier is maintaining possession as easily as they are.That said, I fully agree loose pucks and hitting are in a horrible place right now - I honestly don't see the series getting any better without MAJOR shakeups to EA's decision makers and coding team.

@EA_Aljo Here's the thing though: I won't speak for others but when I was freaking out about the "week 1 reversion patch" every year, it was because I always enjoyed what you did in the beta and hated that the first patch threw away every change y'all made and turned it back into, essentially, a $90 stat wipe. This year when the team decided "hey, everyone hates when we patch stuff so let's not do anything at all" - the year we absolutely, positively, objectionably NEEDED that patch - It leaves me totally flabbergasted.Like, it honestly could not have taken the dev team an entire year's worth of time/money/effort to do what we got... That's why I get so heated. Like, instead of just reverting the game back to a previous state or not doing anything at all, I find it weird how the team doesn't want to/can't just sit in a room and discuss ways to making meaningful improvements...As for the old forum discussions and stuff - I am willing to take some of the blame but not all of it. This was a 50/50 situation that got out of hand. What I got out of most of that was how according to some people, the game was running the way it was supposed to and it was the community that wasn't doing things right (and that my team just needs to "get better"). I would like to suggest the community and dev team start a discussion here under the guise of "aliens are invading earth so we must all set aside our differences for the greater good (of NHL)".Regardless of all the full sim and arcade stuff, NHL, as a video game, just isn't up to par.

Everything in there and forced cross creases that go right through my stick blade, feet, body etc....Offense has always been favored in this game but this years edition is just beyond frustrating when trying to defend. I feel really bad for full time d men because you basically took away 2 of their most effective tools to defend.I play a lot and I also play in competitive leagues (WOHL, LG for west coast players). Myself and everyone that I know who are good players say the EXACT same thing.This game just isn't fun and frustrating to play. We only play it because we love hockey and don't have any other alternative.EA is lucky that they're the only one's making hockey because if they had competition and a developer that listened, gave CONSTANT feedback/communication and made changes that we asked for, A LOT of us wouldn't hesitate to jump ship.I'm sick and tired of saying the same thing year after year. Instead of focusing on core GAMEPLAY that functions PROPERLY, they keep adding in gimmicky things that no one is asking for. You wonder why the same things are broken year after year, it's because they're never fixed properly and more stuff is added into an already broken game. The code is so jumbled and massive that of course when you "fix" something, something else ends up being broken in the process.

The blueline poke at 0:46 is the most NHL 23 thing ever. Perfect poke check against the grain of a player caught flat footed and the puck goes NOWHERE. Then an auto-animation takes place so that player can quickly regain possession. This game is an absolute joke. As a competitive player, who am I playing against more? Another player's skill or the mechanics of the game?

@Nammer604 Just watched the video on youtube. It's a shame it got removed for profanity because it is the perfect video of everything that is absolutely wrong with this game.

@Nammer604WOW now I don't want to here from the Community managers on how we have to adapt this video is by far the most proof you can get that the game is broken and we really don't want to play any more until fixed. I opted out of the Championship that starts today because how broken the game is. I posted a message about how the defense is unplayable and they say we need to adapt. NO EA you need to adapt and fix your Game. CAN EVERYONE PLEASE +XP the first post on this thread to really get the word out This game sucks and if you google NHL 23 rating it is not even a 2 out of 5 and I would never buy something with that low of a rating I guess except hockey. DONE

This video perfectly showcases why we all have problems with this game. Instead of coming in here and commenting on the video itself and having a discussion about our criticism of the game, they came in here to shut it down and deleted the video instead. Okay so maybe the video can't be hosted on these forums due to rules. I will accept that. But why has nobody from EA even acknowledged this video?

That's my point. They always ask for video. We give them one with many of our complaints we have right in one easy to watch video. Instead of being helpful and commenting on the video that clearly shows issues, they instead decided it was against rules and deleted it. Ok so no I get that it might be against rules here because of the swearing but at least take the time and address the actual content of the video guys. This is why we are all so upset. We constantly provide video, and nothing is ever done beyond the "well pass it along" messages.
This one makes me more mad because it's a full video of nothing but things we all take issue with, and it seems like they don't want to deal with it so they delete it instead. Maybe I'm wrong but unless someone from EA starts a dialogue about it, we can only assume they just didn't want to discuss the real issues this game has.

The video probably was forwarded to the team, it just couldn't stay on the forums due to language (I think there is a minimum age requirement to make accounts here but there are still rules everyone needs to abide by).

If OP or anyone can find the video and just reupload with muted audio, everything should be perfect for further discussion.

@twhite1387 That seems to be the norm here now. They ask for video, we give it. If they don't like it, it's removed but the info is "passed to the Devs" and that's the last we hear about it.
