Yeah, and they removed the full broadcast option... ☹️
So now when you play a game offline, - You start the game -faceoffs directly, you dont even see what goalies are starting for the teams... I tested it on both play now and franchise mode... ☹️ ☹️ ☹️
NEW PRESENTATION PACKAGE - And they removed stuffs instead. The new stuffs are not in regular games, maybe in playoffs? I haven´t seen it yet in any game....
Not to mention that the Franchise Custom league is broken..... ☹️

Well the first thing with custom league that is broken is that you cant substitube AHL affiliate when you have more than 32 teams in your league, every team over 32 will get an SHL or Liiga teams as their AHL affiliate and you can't change that.... so stupid...
Their will be more broken stuffs now when we real players test the game, not the ones on EA NHL that doesnt find the bugs.... lol
Exactly!! So EA!! They always have bugs on every new thing they add.....
Not defending EA here, but you need to do a little research, half the teams and area you complain about are not covered under EA's copyrights. So, half the stuff you @MV75 keep talking about over and over, requires governmental and international laws to be violated, so dismissing half of your power as always.
The other half of your post actually makes sense, but those are the things they son't care about. The 48 custom league thing is just completely pointless. I'm willing to bet they added that after they made it possible to shrink the leagues. The main purpose of the custom league wasn't designed to support 48 teams. That is very clear, considering the bugs you are talking about, but also several you don't mention. There just aren't enough players with decent stats generated in a year, not to mention at the start. You're stuck with these Minor League teams and pit them against NHL teams. If you set the game to fantasy draft, you can't fill a whole team of NHL ready players.
Its a total afterthought. A deve basically said, "Hey if we can go down to six I bet we could go to 48 and that would surprise our players."
Its also laughable to think they have anyone play test offline modes. They figure they are copy pasting them over, so that means they don't need to bug check. If they forces someone to play 25 years of Frnachise mode they'd realize that 3rd liners are asking for 10 million each after year 10, and player morale is broken, and the Be a Pro is pathetically under written.
I´m not really understanding what you @IrishOwl actually are pointing out on now?
To put new Locations into the creation part of the game doesn´t have anything with international/governmental laws to do.
About the leagues, yes EA dont have those copyrights, but I would love them to change that and add more leagues.
And for letting us use all logos in the game when you create a team is something with the copyrights agreement that EA have done with those leagues probably. Or lazyness...
Most of the things in my post doesn´t probably need much effort from EA, its more of what kind of product they want to give us, especially offline players.
That is something that they have showed us pretty clear that they dont want to put out the best hockey game they ever could.
And Yes, the Custom league is huge flop, they implemented it for shrink leagues but:
a) didnt test the mode completely, especially the part when you add more than 32 teams and especially 48 teams.
b) they rushed it in and nobody at EA thought that there would be any problem, and if it would be any it still would not be prioritazed.
And yes, the copy and paste old version of the games is really starting to break the game more and more for each year. I haven´t even played Madden 23 Franchise mode in weeks because they have so many bugs that will break the save forever.
In FIFA Career mode they hade som really bad bugs in last years game, but they are less this year, but there is still 2-3 years old bugs that work exactly like it has in every year.
For NHL 23 there seem to be a lot of bugs, especially for online players and that is bad business for EA if online players are having problem and dont want to spend money in HUT.
Sadly for us offline players they are now in a position where they need to fix online stuffs before they even look at the offline stuffs.
But we all know that they wont fix it for offline modes. ☹️
And yes, because how EA works my wishlist is never going to be implemented in current game, but I hope in future NHL games some of it will be there, because it would make the game better for us offline players.
