Quebec Players Unfair Ping Advantage

Just played 10 rivals games. 6 were against Montreal teams with such a speed advantage or my team is was basically unfair. The Quebec players were able to use their fast players that were at least 2-3 strides behind by fast fowards and were able to catch them no problem.

This is such a problem and it is called ping. Quebec has a server and Ontario does not. Ontario players are connected to the Quebec server and guess what, those players have an unfair advantage as they are closer to the server.

The result is lazy play by the Quebec players as they have a half a second to a full second advantage over Ontario players. Do you ever wonder why your better team just gets killed by a lesser Montreal Canadians player. I did until I saw the lag that I got and then I understood.

EA fix the game. The Quebec players use the glitch goals and an Ontario player can't stop them. On a faceoff you can't win even with the right counter because of the lag. It is unfair and honestly used should refund the purchase price if the game to any Ontario player that asks because of your unfair business practices.

In a previous post I asked when Ontario would be getting their own server. In response to no great surprise there were no immediate plans to do so ie... so what that Ontario player are being screwed over oh well.

I hope that 2k or some other comes out with a hockey game. It would be amazing to see this dumpster fire of a game go down in flames.

  • @internetg611 the issue is real. It's so bad that most people from the east coast refuse to play west coast games simply because then they don't have the advantage.

It's super frustrating being a west coast guy being stuck with slower skating, worse agility, less accurate shooting and passing, a slight delay with passing, poor hitting, etc.

It's incredibly unfair and would love it if they used the central servers more but they never do. Blows me away that they don't even out the advantage online but rather just choose to screw over the west coast players.

Just had another example.Played a perfect game up 1 0 with 30 seconds to go. Shot from the pint that my goalie stops but hang on, game lags for just a minute second and oh  my goalie k nocks the puck into my own net .

Lose the game 2 1 as after that could not win a face off to save my life. Game gave the ping advantage to the Quebec player because they were going to lose. Just crap.

Would love to see these players play with our ping for a change. These players are always 64  and 13 .I am not saying they are not good players but the advantage they have with ping is quite a big hurdle to overcome.

EA fix this. But hang on EA says it does not exist. They think their customers are stupid.

Please another company make a hockey game. People are so sick of this crap they would flock to a fair test of hockey and not this dumpster fire of a game.

  • @internetg611 You are describing an issue that is inherent with online play. It will likely not improve until long after you are dead - the solution is to play offline so your gaming system is the server.

Welcome to the online world.  I mean I live down here in Florida so I'm always getting done over by EA when it comes to hockey.  I feel there needs to be a server in Georgia but there isn't.  At least FIFA was kind enough to add a Miami server.

Should be like 3 servers spread out in Canada, 6 spread out in the US spread out with 3 in the upper state area and 3 towards the southern states.  But that costs money and EA only likes to make it not give it away.

The reason why we don't have servers everywhere is because that dilutes the player pool. Sure, you would have a higher ping being on a closer server, but that doesn't really matter if you can't find any matches due to players that you would normally match with are now playing on different servers.

The fact there isn’t a server in the Toronto area is a joke. I find it hard to believe the MAJORITY of players using the east servers aren’t in Ontario, and specifically the Toronto area. So now all you guys have is a majority having to be put at a disadvantage, while the French playerbase gets the best gaming experience possible for the game and a massive advantage.

Adding another server in Toronto would not “dilute” the player pool. You guys putting the server In Quebec must mean there is a large playerbase there, cause if there isn’t then it further proves me point that Toronto should have been the choice. And if it is the case that it’s a big playerbase in Quebec, then there should be no issue separating Ontario from it with their own server
