Are your friends all on PS4 or PS5? 
There are some join issues when invites come from gen 5 consoles to gen 4 and vice versa. 

You could try deleting your game user profile off the PS4. It’s just in the game saves file. It won’t delete anything important but you’ll have to redo some game settings (like camera angle and that stuff). That’s helped correct some EASHL connection related issues in the past.
