Change the arena? how in gods name is position selection somehow connected to the arena? i cant select a position no function in the left stick and x,a,y,b. go over one tab and everything works fine. ive been playing ea games for a long long time. every year since about 2017, game functionality has gotten progressively worse. cant select position in chel cant select side in career. on fifa a buddy cant play drop ins or volta. its damn ridiculous. what makes it worse is that it used to work fine. coding doesnt change itself. my guess is that somebody f'd up a line in a patch. tell me im wrong. and give me a real explanation. please dont tell me to "hard reset" or uninstall and reinstall. if im taking the time to vent online Ive already tried all that.

Have had this game or 3 months , and I’ve only been able to play CHEL a handful of times , it’s starting to get rediculous. The main reason I got this game was to play online with my friends and the last 2 weeks it has not worked a single time when trying to pick a position. I find myself restarting my x box , clearing my settings , and have done every other suggestion that has been presented , and still have not been able to play . Not sure if it’s a oatch or what the problem is , but the game has been out long enough where this should be fixed by now , it’s a shame . Please if you find a legitimate solution let me know , I jjst want to be able to play the game I payed for .

Are you on Xbox? If so, are you using a custom gamerpic? If you are, try switching to a default one. Also, try changing up everything. Your loadout, build, gear, etc. It's possible there is some combination of these that is causing this.
Yes , I’m on Xbox , and yes I have also tried switching classes , creating new load outs and have even made a whole new team . I have done everything that was suggested , and more just to try and play this game . Doesn’t make sense to me why any of those things would fix the problem , and they still haven’t . I haven’t been able to play chel at all for about 2 weeks now . Also unsure why an update hasn’t been done to fix this yet if several people are having the same exact problem, we should all be able to play the game we payed for , it’s becoming very frustrating . Once again please if you have a legitimate solution to this please let the community know . EA needs to fix this problem

It sounds like this just started 2 weeks ago for you. Was that out of the blue and no changes had been made to your club, player, connection or console? Have you also factory reset your console yet?
Also, can you get me a video of it happening?
Yeah it started not working at all about 2 weeks ago , but I still ran into this problem the entire time I owned this game . I can assure u I have tried everything that has been suggested , between adjusting settings , unplugging my console, re downloading the game , you name it , and I have tried it . This is bonkers
I’m trying to send a video and it says “unsupported extension type “
I get stuck on this screen , can’t do anything but click the RB and LB … can’t even back out I have to restart the game everytime I am on this screen
Without sounding rude , shouldn’t EA be able to fix this already , I mean clearly I’m not the only one who continues to have this problem , and from what I’m reading it has been happening to people for months . Feel like it’s something that should have been fixed a long time ago considering when this game came out, and this is starting to become rediculous the fact I can’t even play a game online with my friends ; which is the whole reason I purchased the game .
Have to send pictures , it won’t let me send a video for some stupid reason .

We have to figure out why this is happening first. The high majority of people aren't experiencing it so we need to keep investigating it.Did you try a factory reset of your console?
Yes I done a factory reset , which was probably the dumbest thing that I could have done because now all my data isn’t saved not just on the game , but on other games as well … needless to say , made my player , rejoined my teams club and it still didn’t work . I don’t have a YouTube account , is there any other way I can send a video to you.
I assure you I wouldn’t be reaching out if I hadn’t tried everything that has been suggested already .

There are instructions here for capturing video. Clips can be captured and published by both consoles so you shouldn't need to use YouTube.

Yesterday I had the same issues, was in WoC, it did the glitch in the lobby,where you could only see people on your team, but the bottom left hand corner it showed the timer, like you were still searching for a game. The only way out of it was to close the game and restart. Then couldn't find a drop in.
Then I decided to give HUT a shot, so I was gonna play the single player on HUT, then I got like a connection error (which is weird if I'm trying to play single player).
After that I switched to BAP. I got to a cutscene, then it force closed my game...
Also, the other day I got into a drop-in,and it did the loop sync error off of the faceoff again... (At this point I'm over this broken game)
After the first failed drop-in attempt, I reset everything, did a MAC address clear. I've switched back to a generic gamerpic. Why am I still experiencing issues that were allegedly resolved in the patch? (Granted loop syncing isn't as often, but it's still there).
The day after I put my rant on here, CHEL starting working and has been ever since. Imagine that. Now let's see if yall can fix the travesty that is fifa23. Maybe have people who actually played futbol at least stand in and advise. There are problems everywhere. 1: No Brazilian league. This is the 2nd or 3rd year in a row without. Last time they did, they didn't have any of the teams from the largest city in the country, also the home of the league champions. Greatest futbol nation in the world and they're not in FIFA. I can't even choose to wear the men's national team kit. Ridiculous.
2. Goalie play. Simply horrible. And inaccurate. One play they'll have a miraculous save, immediately followed by giving up a goal on the near post from 3 yards out. Covering the post is easy. Goals rarely get scored on the inside when the goalie is on the post. Because the window is tiny. On a cross or corner, the goalie won't come off his line. Yes I'm holding y, yes goalie is set to come off in instructions. And why is it the 85% of the time goalie kicks go straight to the opposition? Or the ball will be well aimed but the opposing player will literally jump on my shoulders or shove me out of the way. Never a foul called. And the person receiving the pass can't move, but every defender on the field can converge before the ball gets there. Then there's the short pass directly to opposition when they refuse to pass even though you're spamming the hell out of the a button.
Bad Refs: in the demo foul calls were considerably more accurate. You couldn't jump on someone trying to receive a ball in the air. Line judges are fair at best, often so late, when the whistle blows everybody is confused.
Free kicks: are a joke. Directional controls are way too sensitive and you have no way of knowing where your kick is going. The biggest issue with foul calls is inconsistency.
Do you listen to your beta testers? Or only to the people who rely on exploits to win?
How can FIFA23 be such a disgrace to the most popular sport in the world?

Samething happen to me can play offline or online , cant choose player or start a game , already do everything you said but noting work
i have to uninstall and reinstall the game every time a i whant to play
@EA_Aljo Cmon dude... are you seriously asking us to do a factory reset? You want me to reinstall 87 games because I cant select a position in CHEL or a side in career? Ive been looking at your other responses. You told someone that not alot of people are having this new problem so youre still "investigating" it. But the threads on this subject go back to November and theres a bunch of them. So when does it become a big enough problem that it actually gets fixed? When you have one person in a group that cant play, guess what-- the whole group leaves. You arent losing one person at a time, your losing multiple people every time. So for every entry on this subject multiply that by at least 3. Dont forget the ungodly number of people who scan these threads looking for a solution. Is it a big enough problem yet?
As I said previously, the worst thing about this situation is that the game used to work. then completely randomly i wasnt able to select a position in chel. At first I could still play career, but it stopped letting me select a side. Ive gotten both CHEL and career to work a couple times since the problem started, but only a couple. The fact that you are telling people to change their arenas, gear, etc, tells me you know that theres some kind of hiccup in the coding. It shouldnt be my responsibility to try to figure out a way around the problem, its your responsibility to fix it.
Or give me my money back.

You can factory reset without deleting those games.
When we have an update, we'll announce it on our official channels. Okay. Great. You still refuse to acknowledge responsibility, and your responses are dismissive. You wont address the fact that you're asking people to jump through all these hoops to TRY to play a game they spent $60 on. Then when we come here trying to get some answers its nothing but answers straight out of the handbook. First, cycle the modem. Second, do a hard reset. Third, uninstall and reinstall, and so on. But each of those answers comes in one reply at a time. Its literally been six weeks since I first got on here about this issue. Those who have persisted past the first 8 to 12 responses are given some company line about "this is a new issue and is still being investigated." Its been 5 months since this thread started. I havent been able to play for two months. When the most recent update came out I was really hoping the issue would be fixed. Nope. It was the first update that marked the beginning of my problem. That update needs to be Rewritten or replaced. You need to shut the game down for a couple hours for maintenance, and replace the updates with functioning ones. It isnt that difficult.

When I said it's being investigated, that is acknowledging there's an issue. There also have been some that were helped with these suggestions. I get they aren't working or everyone, but that doesn't mean we should just ignore trying to help. The team is still working on this. If it were an easy issue to resolve, it would have been done by now.

I feel like you need to go back and read this thread from the beginning. Every entry has the exact same problem, and none have said that any of your suggestions worked. Your suggestions arent working for anyone, yet you give the same advice to each new entry, in the exact same order.
You said its being investigated and that the team is still working on it. Which one is it? Investigating comes before working on it. This thread goes back to November, Ive had the problem for almost three months. 4 months without functionality in a game released yearly. Are you going to give me back 1/4 of the price of the game?
SHUT THE GAME DOWN FOR MAINTENANCE AND REMOVE THE UPDATE! Then fix and re release the update. But do it on your own time.
