Thanks for letting me know. When I have some news on this, I'll report back here.

We could Make 1hour video.....

The fact is that, in a club if we want to play public game with "use best location server" setted to yes, we can wait 2hour without finding a game, sometimes we find an opponent, and we are stuck to play against them the whole night.

When we set "use best location server" on Relaxed we can find few games but not like before.

Another fact : we are french, we have uk Friends playing. With "use best location" on yes we cannot find them, few month ago with these parameters we were able to play against them and german teams. Not anymore exept with relaxe server

I don't have any news currently. I don't know when this will be addressed, but will report back as soon as I have news.

Is that problem linked to EA server shutdown? Cause they would be huge point to leave this game...

We haven't shut down any NHL 23 servers.

hello, we are trying to develop esport hockey in France. We encourage players to play WOC 6s to do European competitions and this bug which has not been resolved for almost 3 weeks is killing everything... the more it progresses the worse it is.

If it can help I noticed that if we are lucky to find a match for sure we play against a team with at least 3 French.

Maybe the IP address is involved in the opponent search instead of the server search?

is it not possible to direct us to the europe nord server?

I am not sure why people are getting triggered ? 🤷‍♂️ . After last patch half of Europe can’t play a game mode that doesn’t bring any revenue to a game that’s at the back end of its life cycle made by a developer that has a reputation of having issues every time they put a new uniform in game. 

I’m not sure why a message every 2 weeks “ I will let you know “ is not good enough for you .

Go play HUT or wait couple months till they need to sell some copies .

Have you tried setting your search to "Relaxed" instead of Use best location? If you both could give me time stamps of when you last experienced this, I can pass them on to the team to help with the investigation.

Also, if you can send me a private message with gamertags/PSN IDs that were in the lobby, that will help.

@EA_AljoYes mate , all it does is give American opponents .

The problem is that relaxed just allows us to look for game with different server teams , it won’t match us unless they have put relaxed on the other side .

The only other available and playable server for us is Europe North (due to ping etc) but there are no teams in North who would put relaxed as their option . Finns , swedes etc play exclusively with exact location ( understandably so ) , making it impossible for the game even consider matching us together .

It has been the case for years and the only solution would be giving team an option to choose witch server they want to be connected to (what we have in private matchmaking ) .


It might seem like a small issue, just another reason for some people to write “ea again” etc . In reality though any team that have 3 or more players located south of Copenhagen and west of Warsaw are unable to play CHEL. It has gone to the extent where those teams actively and exclusively look for private games every night through various online communities .
