I don't agree that pucks have a pre-determined destination based on player attributes. I do agree, however, that there is a pre-determined path.
I believe, regarding rebounds, that pucks always bounce to certain areas because that's how EA has programmed the 'physics' off of the goalie pad. It appears to me, that the rebounds have 3-4 pre-determined angles coming off the pads. EA has programmed the offensive A.I. to also be in those locations, so that's why the rebounds always tend to land right on the tape of the eventual scoring player.
