Requests for NHL 24

1. Stop making poke check the only means of effectively defending. Players won't use anything else if one mechanic is way better than other ways of defending. Reduce how effective poke checking is against dekes as it is always aim assisted to where the puck is on the puck carriers stick. Regardless of how a defender is positioned, they shouldn't be able to even make an accurate poke check facing AWAY from the puck. 

2. Sort of like the top - Balance out how effective defenders can take away the puck. Make it so players can't just stop and glide with the puck and not be able to be bumped off. When a player is coming in with more speed, they should be able to hit a player off the puck easily. 

3. Board play. Players are still taking advantage of glitching their stick through the boards and circling off. They shouldn't still have puck possession as their stick would hit the boards and the puck would either bounce away or press against the boards. Make it easier for puck battling along the boards. 

4. Provide defenders the ability to pinch a player entering the ozone while hemming them into the boards. Much like the ability to hold them against the boards. This is a realistic defensive move and it's non existent unless the player is against the boards already.

5. Controlling goalies needs a complete overhaul. The animations are too robotic and slow. Puck recovery after rebounds or regual saves should allow the goalie to quickly smoother the puck for a whistle. Desperation saves should be easier to make when controlling the goalie. 

6. Passing with the goalie when the opponent is closer to the puck than you should not happen. It should end in a turnover more often. I understand wanting to keep a game fast paced but being able to pass the puck through two players already infront of the goalie is not realistic. 

7. Allow the goalie to better utilize their stick or playing the puck behind the net.
