We could see animations between the whistle of players hunching over with their sticks on their pants. Showing a player on the bench from taking a big hit moving their head around trying to shake it off. But most of all I think on rebuilding goalies it would go a huge way with potentially smoother animations and maybe less of pucks going thru body/pads that it shouldn't.

@TheUnusedCrayonIt's the subtle type changes you have to look out for. It could allow for a better collision system in NHL where glance hits might have more effects instead of either you get knocked down, bump off, or pushed off the puck but maintain balance.

All great points with one addition: Puck physics and separating the puck from the player animations. I know it's incredibly difficult, but if EA could pull this off with the NHL series it would be monumental.

Could also allow for bracing a hit. Could even be used to tone down LTing allowing for a more realistic looking balance loss.

glancing hits can already happen with the current technology...just go look on operationsports. many of those slider sets with higher stumble and fall values already give us flancing hits and dyamic checking...its just not tuned properly with the default sliders...
as far as goalies go...anotherthing just not tuned prperly...play around with shot accuracy offline and youl;l startt seeing tons of new kinds of goals when you increase accuracy...idk why....although i think a new branching animation techology would really help add more blocking animations so screens are more realistic...right now goalies hjae insane vision and screens are more 100 or 0 rather than lots of partial with blocking anmiations to stioll make saves but not in a controlled or accurate manner.
