This Game Doesn't Feel Like Real Hockey When You're Online
I'm a former KIJHL player who was active from 2004-06. I bought almost all of the EA NHL series video games since they started. I play D2 HUT with a 94 overall team. Joined the All Star Open tournament. Every game it seems goalies are put on rookie mode since they can't save a beach ball. I'm very skilled at creating offense although often the AI never gives me good outlets to make a pass. I use actual hockey plays from the many drills we practiced during my time in Junior. AI in this game does not position the way they should compared to real life hockey. You have the defensive players eyesight to focused on the puck carrier, instead of their check. Weak side wingers don't understand the position in the D-zone, even when set to a staggered setting.
As time goes on I have grown to not find any interest in this game, since it lures the toxic players into finding ways to cheat the broken gameplay. This isn't just happening in Hockey Ultimate Team but EASHL too. AI D will swing to close to the boards or get in your way instead of help close the middle and swing the opponent outside. These are things you learn in minor hockey which I don't understand why EA couldn't grasp the fact, some changes are needed. From what I have hard from some buddies is NHL 23 hasn't had a tuner update since the Technical test. This is probably why we are experiencing technical issues within this game.
My friend messaged Ben himself recently to find out he isn't part of the team anymore, and hasn't been involved even in NHL 22 very much. Whoever is running things on the higher end needs to do a better job. It's a " full priced game " . This tournament is showing how much of a disaster this game is for the online gamers.
Just please let us play some good hockey, and stop making excuses why a proper tuner update can't happen. The past is the past! When negative feedback is heard by majority of the regular members of this community who want to see progress, that needs to be implemented.
24 is months away. NHL 23 can't by any means be left alone like this if you're charged it at full price. Consumers paid good money for a potentially good game! Not a broken game that isn't going to be even attempted at fixing...
