Good post. But at the same time...holy crap im glad i refunded it and skipped this year. This looks SOOOO BORING and unrealistic defense I dont know how you can even play more than 2 games like that.
Basically one hand in your pants and the other on left stick is the way to play D this year...0 interaction...barely a game anymore.

Excellent post. This has totally revamped my entire defense.
I play mostly offline in season mode and these strategies work against the AI also.
This keeps me from defensive breakdowns.
It actually makes your defense actually work.
Great post, I would love to see something like this about how to generate good offence and shots.
I have kind of taken this approach to defence and the more control you have over the players, the more you can slow the game down and the easier it is to read and defend.
The problem I have is getting SOG. I get into the zone but lose it easily and usually only score once or twice a game and do well to get more than 6 shots in each period.
