@mxflys I don't think removing some modes would make the game any better tbh. Imo way better to have modes, even if you can't develop them all in the same year, which is the case really.
I'm someone who plays multiple modes, HUT, Franchise, Be a Pro, also rarely some tournaments. Having owned all NHL games since NHL06 I can see all the modes being usefull:
- HUT obviously is the cash cow, even though many players don't use a dime, some use A LOT. I like building my hut team too, but it's a competitive mode really, not something you can play to chill properly imo.
- Franchise and BAP are essential for offline. I can't even imagine a game without either one. And they were what made the NHL franchise really grow and develop in the first place, before hut was even a thing. Many don't want to play online.
- Seasons and Tournaments are what me and my friends played mostly as Couch play as kids (I'd like to think kids still meet each other face to face, not just play online), so I can definitely see the use for those too. Mode where you can take over your favorite local teams or national team and compete against each other for the whole season or tournament, not just one game.
- I can see the purpose of threes as well, filling the need for that arcade goofy mode, like NHL Arcade was for PS3.
- Finally the online modes WOC and Online versus, obviously they are essential competitive online modes as well.
So with this all covered, I don't really see any modes that would be unnecessary or which could be removed.
