Will EA change eashl attribute progression?

everyone I’ve talked to is pretty upset about the xfactor boosts and miss having a better attribute progression system. To me eashl should be about user input. It shouldn’t be dependent on which boost you apply.

to me it would be nice to have attributes based on your play style. For example if you are a d man and do 10 out of 10 passes successfully then maybe I can get some points to put into passing?

I mean my ideas aren’t perfect but it would be cool if you made 6 vs 6 rewarding so that the more you play of 6 vs 6 club the more bags you get and those bags can unlock attributes and if you play x amount of games you can have a chance or maybe just make it dependent on your individual play.. you can unlock more chances at attributes based solely on your play and not the result of a poor team

    Hey there, @TasteofChicago91

While boosts add an advantage, user input is what the outcome of games are most dependent on. Regardless, are you saying you just want X-Factors removed, but still have other boosts available? Essentially, X-Factors are the same thing. They boost a player's stats under specific conditions. If you want everything to be only based on user input, it doesn't make sense to have a system that unlocks stat upgrades through progression. Can you add some details to clarify this? Thanks!

@EA_Aljo I just think it’s unfair that if you’re in front of the net and someone has close quarters and you poke the puck it seems like the boosts play too much of a role. It definitely does not feel like user input reigns supreme. I can guarantee if you did a poll right now a lot of people would tell you the game feels way too random.. I’ve had some games where I could poke the puck 4 or 5 times in the same play and the forward keeps the puck but then the next game the poke works fine.. so my thing is it seems like if you put on the right boosts it really makes a big difference.. I guess what I’m trying to say is the X factor abilities is what makes me upset.. the attribute customization I like because you have to pick and choose but having random xfactor abilities affect a 50-50 chance drives me and a Lot of players crazy..

I just want more consistency in the game and game by game it doesn’t feel like that. Over the years it seems like your input matters less and less and I’ve been playing since nhl 09.

I can’t be the only one who feels this way.

I agree it's too easy for the carrier to pick up the puck again, but a well timed poke is also part of the skill gap. Poke checking is my main tool on defense and I'm very successful with it. If you only get a piece of the puck, chances are good it's going to get picked up again. Ratings play a big part in this as well.

I get that everyone is upset with Close Quarters, but you're also letting them get in to a dangerous area where there's a high chance of scoring. Stopping them before they get that chance is part of good defending. It's easy to say they're only scoring because of CQ, but that's not guaranteeing they will score at close range. There's a higher chance of it of course.

@EA_Aljo Sometimes it’ll be a poke or 2 at the blue line and then that doesn’t work.. then a stick lift .. then if the guy gets lower my teammate will
Poke and hit the puck and then I’ll do it again and then we start yelling because we had 4 or 5 times where we thought the puck should’ve been jarred loose.. and then the next game everything works fine.. I posted this on an eashl Facebook forum but I guess this never happens to you? I’m just saying why would a player get rewarded for skating into traffic or leaving the puck exposed.. make them earn it a bit more. I’m very precise on my timing and I have a 94 stick check and 93 defensive awareness. I Angle correctly and maintain a good gap but sometimes I throw my hands in the air because I feel like my teammate or I made the right play or were in the right position and then we are like “how the heck did he get it back so many times” I guess you’ve had better luck than I or maybe it’s my connection or maybe I need to switch to a defense D build.

I’m very successful too but when you start playing those L2, hold x, and dipsy doodle teams I feel like it should be easier to jar the puck loose on a well timed poke check and easier for the D to pick to the puck. Maybe the recovery time and puck control is too high..

I’m just brainstorming ideas and maybe I’m wrong maybe I’m halfway right.. definitely wish there would be more people jumping in on the conversation

I've experienced the same issue. I'm just saying that when you get a better poke on the puck, your chances of it being further dislodged are a lot higher. It's also better on your first poke. If you're spamming it, which I'm guilty of myself sometimes, the subsequent pokes aren't aimed as well. I definitely get the frustration and I'd like to see it be harder to regain control, but it really just comes down to ratings and positioning. Forwards tend to have high puck control ratings so recovering it is easier than defenders. Magnetic and Quick Pick are abilities that can help with pick ups. I use a PMD build, but don't use those abilities. Like I said, I've experienced this as well, but it's not happening every time. If I'm not getting a good poke on them, I can get my body in the way and use incidental contact to knock it loose.

I think puck control in general could be lowered. Hopefully, we'll see changes to this, but in the meantime, you can raise your chances of disrupting the play with well-timed pokes and good defensive play.

@СЛАДКАЯ МЕЧКАГ О it depends on the ping
The Swede has a ping of 5, the German has a ping of 35
As a result, in the same time, the German will exchange information with the server once, and the Swede seven times
And every time the Swede will check the probability that he picked up the puck. You yourself understand that the probability of getting tails is much greater if you toss a coin 7 times.
That's why the Swedes ride in a straight line, not paying attention to their rivals. The puck will still remain with them. The problem is that the game implements asynchronous communication with the server.
  • I think your title should be changed to something like or about xfactor balance.  We never had a attribute grind progression system since legend cards.  The best you can do now is build balancing

  • I think this game is broken and no matter what people say EA doesn't actually change anything. I'm pretty tired of everyone outside my club being faster, stronger, can hit better and everything else seems to be better for them as well. When you see a 6'6" power forward zooming by a 5'10" dangler or sniper every single game. Something is wrong. Unless I'm missing some sort of attribute point system. I can't play this game without being annoyed.
