Heya folks, please give ~ this ~ thread a look for more info; it's an oldie but I think provides the best back and forth
- SnizzBarDizz2oh3 years agoNew Veteran@jimmarshall I think a lot of people would be super happy if it were!
@TTZ_DipsyTo sum this up easy. No, it won’t, no point in even saying wait to the reveal.
I’ll tell you why, to put it as simple as possible. Its simply not worth it, when it comes to sports titles outside of racing its not worth doing, there simply isn’t a market, or there lack of. Its why it was removed in the first place and seriously, nothing has changed at all. They’d be spending more money on resources for PC and it wont make their money back.
Its a business decision and until sports picks up on pc it’ll remain that way.
Having NHL on pc is the least requested thing or responded to thing by the community out of everything. Fact is those who buy any sports title has a console as is and therefore the game is accessible to them. This also eliminates unfair cross platform advantages that PC would obviously get and since the market is small it would have to have cross platform to survive otherwise you’d barely get any online games, and if you did i dare say you’d get a server thats lagging and queue times would be insane.
So no, its not.
It is what it is, once people accept this the sooner the better, its always the same small people who keep asking every year. Its the definition of insane, trying the same thing over and over expecting a different result.@SnizzBarDizz2ohYou mean less then 3% of the playbase. Im sure they would be. There isn’t a market on pc for sports titles. There really never has been except racing.
also if it ever went to PC people would use controller so what would be the point?.

you do know every NHL goes on sale within two weeks like 60% right? So they are pretty much as you say losing money there…
it has nothing to do with anything not being popular on PC… it’s the fact that the PC would be able to port in pictures and take apart what EA created and PC would be able to make it better which console would complain why can’t they have that…
the last NHL PC game is still very popular and is still being modded with todays rosters so I don’t see where you think it wouldn’t be a seller????
now let’s talk about that lag… I’m assuming you’re saying PC would bring lag or more lag? This shows me that you’ve never owned a gaming PC cause it would actually be better on PC as we’d have the option to adjust to the issues by changing settings… also there’s a fair amount of lag already on your high and mighty console each year which has yet to be fixed…
lastly the HUGE reason NHL won’t come to PC is cause as of right now EA and as many of us see are using a copy n paste method in which if it were on PC we’d just be able to port in new rosters and photos for the next season instead of buying a complete new game for no apparent reason to have updated rosters…
- @DeMiGoD1988 While I agree that we will never see EA NHL game one the PC in the future, I would disagree that there's no market on PC for sports titles. Football Manager is the prime example. FIFA sells pretty well on PC as well. Of course these are football games, so obviously easier to sell than hockey.
Also many current console players would move the PC version of the game it would be available.
But overall it's an unnecessary conversation as you pointed out, the PC version isn't coming. - KWRussell3 years agoNew Traveler
There absolutely is a market on PC for sports titles. It's being grossly underserved.
FIFA 23 and PGA Tour 2K23 are the only major PC sports titles that have Gen 9 feature parity. Madden NFL 23 and NBA 2K23 are half-assed Gen 8 ports. The NHL, UFC, and MLB The Show series don't get ports at all. I'm convinced that EA is shipping their upcoming PGA Tour game on PC only because 2K is. EA refuses to say whether the new College Football game is coming to PC at all, when they could confirm that at any time.
Do you seriously expect PC players to buy this year's inferior products to "prove their support" without any promise that next year's products will reach full parity with the Gen 9 versions? Or will they get canceled for "poor sales" because we voted with our wallets and refused to buy their inferior products? EA, 2K, and Sony are not entitled to one thin dime of our business. They have to earn it by shipping better PC games.

All I know is I want NHL on PC. Been having the same arguments for 10+ years now. Tired of debating. I just want the game on PC.
- @DeMiGoD1988 If someone will crack this game and can add all missing headshot images, better likenesses, yes would buy imediately for PC
- @TTZ_Dipsy Sometimes you can find out from their earning calls to investors when they talk about things happening to woo them.
As for PC version I'd like for NHL 24 have it but I think the earliest would be NHL 25. Right now they are tackling full crossplay among the current gen consoles.
