Banned Player Name Discussion?

Hello!

Is there any way to open a discussion up with a human employee at EA with regards to 'unusable' player names?

Thanks,

[REMOVED] (ironically, my EA approved account name that isn't allowed in the NHL series)

There is not really any discussion, if a name is detected as profanity etc. then you need to choose something else.

Understandable, but my username isn't profanity.

I'd be happy to explain to reasoning behind the name in a private conversation.

So what about his name is “profanity?” Of course I don’t expect an actual response because that’s the EA way, but I really am generally curious.

The first word in his name being slang for a woman's genitals would be my guess.  I don't find it personally offensive, but I'm not shocked it's on a list somewhere.

As for the inconsistency, I don't have the impression EA uses a single profanity filter across all their games and forums.  They probably should, but redundancies like that sometimes happen in large companies.

  • The stuff that gets banned vs the stuff you still see in the games is absolutely and unbelievably laughable.   I reported a very clearly offensive player name(100% racist)...got an email from EA stating no action would be taken because it was deemed not offensive.   Then there's people with plain names being rejected or banned.

The problem is when a player is upset at the game or you, they will report you for an inappropriate name to "get back at the game/you" and the process for determining if you have an inappropriate name or not is, to put it as nice as I can, poor. I lost my team name of Mister Flugie which obviously has nothing inappropriate about it because somebody obviously reported it as inappropriate and EA just decided nobody would ever lie or abuse the reporting system.

You couldn't use a better example here than bags? 😂
"I would be happy to explain" come on, brother.

That's one that should not be allowed.

I had some like "Barman" and "Grenouille" not work

    @PlayoffError Not true!

Take off the N and Y at the end and put a T there and then,.....Yeah,taht would be vulgar and profane!

Cunny is NOT a women's genitals.....

It's quite literally the second entry on Urban Dictionary for the word.  Just because it's not a usage you're familiar with doesn't mean it doesn't exist out in the world.

Thread locked. Any questions about offensive names can be sent to a CM in a private message. If it can get you banned in game, it can get you banned here as well. That content needs to be kept off the forums.
