The game ( Playoffs +. Franchise mode) was more fun than ever last week (Even the AI played fairer, and did not determine as the months before how who hits where and won... even if she ran a whole third of a storm against one. Instead of just passenger, she felt everything after more control .. the game flow of the flow was just right, over 20 match days played in franchise mode on a weekend. What speaks for itself ..
And wanted to continue playing yesterday .. another tuner update?
A hotfix? But the game itself didn't get an update.
And then already in the first game the shock ... this crazy speed is back (slider from 4 to 3 no difference) as well as the AI is again god of the game and what happens. The first bully the AI wins puck and storms directly at the goal, goalkeeper stops bounces the same opponent who just shot gets the puck and shoots, and hits! All this in such a crazy speed that looked more like an instant replay with double speed and not after the normal game speed, 2 bully and exactly the same thing happens again goal again is the player with the puck not stopbar and again he runs into my goal and scores.. Afterwards I am allowed to play a little, but in front of the opponent's goal, no pass arrives or a shot in .. The goalkeeper flies from one goal post to the other and back again .. the fifth shot hits the bar and goes out. It runs this way or something like that until shortly before the end of the 2 third. Through 2 rebounds that suddenly fell by themselves, it stands 2:2, then a direct shot and I lead, immediately my goalkeeper cleverly avoids the opponent's shot (yes, he even looks to the left instead of straight and it is 3:3. After that, I am allowed to shoot at the goal without ever really having a chance to score one. The AI attacks both in it two more times without fending it off even once. Lost 5:3 at the end. I played 5 games and all went the same on the last one I even finished prematurely out of frustration .. I also collected dozens of penalties for disabilities, the AI is a joke and should be banned like cheaters who cheat ...
No comparison to the game it was last week...

The first tuner update that game with the patch was .. great .., the second exactly the opposite ... I refer exclusively to offline game modes

I also have videos and I've streamed. It all shows I know what I'm doing.. you on the other hand probably use every game breaking mechanic given to you judging by your NEED for offensive superiority.
I’m actually a mostly exclusive D in woc too, so I don’t have a need to use game breaking mechanics.
Most of my feedback is largely based around defending, using DSS, etc. I love the added responsibilities on D because the payoffs are larger.
Some of those payoffs come by way of shutting down the typical go-to plays by the higher skilled.
Some of the changes to the mechanics aren’t always about black/white possession of the puck - sometimes it’s about adding the ability to create new scenarios and then sorting out the meta within those movements.
For example, the removal of the speed burst in hitting would force the D to time their decision-making differently. It should’ve also enticed the use of the shove more, and also encouraged more use of DSS - creating different scenarios defensively and forcing the offensive to try different things in the face of new defensive setups.
But instead, because a few can’t master the changes within a few days and take some L’s against those who are adapting, we get “outcry” on social media, forums etc
You also didn't clarify if you thought poke checking was in a good place or not.

@phomi99No offense intended. If you enjoy HUT that's fine. It simply shouldn't be used as a measuring stick for gameplay mechanics, or at least in relation to player vs player interactions.
A single person controlling an entire team on the ice may need wider reaching and simplified methods in order to create a competitive balance, that would not necessarily translate well to a team where everyone controls an individual player.
For example, you can't rely on a CPU teammate to be in a good defensive position from the beginning of an attacking player's possession. Having a way to compensate for switching players and correcting position enough to deliver a hit, might require something like a "speed boost".
For a human controlled player, they are able to react and synchronize their movement to be in good position at all times. There's no split in focus to justify heavy corrective measures to compensate for a delay in the ability to react to a play. If they are out of position and unable to deliver an effective hit, they don't have the excuse of starting from a point of disadvantage.
Given that the two modes have different requirements, there should probably be a different standard applied to each mode. A major adjustment which benefits CHEL gameplay should not need to be reverted because it has a negative impact on HUT gameplay.
If both modes aren't similarly improved by the same changes, then those changes should not be applied to both modes.Oh 100% . What's interesting is if you play FIFA or now EA FC 24. Clubs and ultimate team are different styles of gameplay.
What I see in various NHL forums is opinions of gameplay greatly differ from clubs and HUT. Problem with HUT being the most competitive gameplay is the rats who will abuse the Meta. You get them on clubs but in HUT it's on another level. Were talking about players that will get 15min TOA with 3 shots just to get a win.
As far as the measuring stick, I know it sucks but HUT is the money maker. It's no different for Madden or FC 24. 2k has MyCareer that it caters to. It is what it is.

And that was my problem with it was the fact that we didn't even give it a chance for people to adapt to a different style of play and what not. That all being said I do understand why they did it and the reason it was implemented so fast was because at the top level it brought back the unwanted puck ragging meta that existed in 23 that the Pressure System was supposed to fix from happening. Got a message relayed from Inglehart about it who supposedly said when they saw the All Star Event, it brought back the ragging meta that they didn't want in the game, so they chose to revert it for now and maybe try in the future to better tackle the removal of acceleration when hitting problem. I cannot directly confirm this but that was what was told to me.
I still think many of the responses from those that played WoC exclusively were just gripes of having to learn how to hit all over again and the fact that harder for defense again and not offense. But from a 1v1 perspective, I can totally see how the system that was in there for a few days made it very likely to entice stalling tactics of the puck like we saw with the Eki clip.
total controls players are in advance with this hitting nonsense. its so obvious in online play. they only need to push one button and suddenly player get most unrealistic speedboost.
where is fairplay compared to skill stick players?
at least make matching option to select "not to match with total controls noobs" ..
I had enjoyable and fun games last days with skill stick players and this total controls noobs just ruining the whole online experience.

A player who attacks players in the classic range using charge hits ( that's cool and skils ) .
but what I don't understand is that a player who goes for a long distance charge hits to knock a player down should be automatically punished with a 5 min TKO.
this whole system of charging hits which is back again is so bad and it is used a lot in all matches to knock down the opponent at a long distance.
Either fix it or add the option if the user uses intentional charge hits (so the player he uses for the action uses his energy on bodychecks to down energy minimum down to 10%( of 100%) !!!
I was so glad that last tuner limited Charges Hits to really skill zone . So if you wanted to hit someone, you had to be face to face!
And not as it is now that the game is a zero point arcade with no skills because you just have to hit charges without limitation .
This is my take on the current state of the game when it's really not fun ...

I was working with the NHL during the All Star event. I was at Scotiabank mostly but when I switched over to the Fan Fair I would see the fans frustrated at the Playstation booth. At the end of the night the games left on the menu were a racing game and some jungle game.
