Community ManagerWere you having the same issue the last 2 years where PS+ was required? With HUT being an online mode, I can see why it's required. Yes, I know that there is an offline exhibition mode, but it still requires an online connection since it's a part of HUT.
yes i had the same issue the last 2 years but the previous years i had no problems and i have never been a PSPLUS member. i understand it does require an internet connection but for 5+ years no problems playing the single player modes of HUT with my girlfriend on the same TV. All of a sudden the last 2 years whenever i try to play any of the single player modes (which i can play by myself no problem) with a couch co-op partner it says i need PSPLUS to play the mode

The only thing I can think of is that you actually have a PS+ subscription and she doesn't. Have you tried playing any other games that require PS+?
no i do not and have never had a PSPLUS subscription. She also has never had one nor does she have one now. It worked before and for the last 2 years it does not work. so it's not a problem on my end or not having/having PSPLUS. like i said before i contacted sony and they said it is EA that a need to contact about the issue. Sony said the mode DOES NOT require a PSPLUS subscription to play. like i stated earlier i took a video of the problem if that would help

- @EA_Aljo ok i guess this issue isn't important enough to EA or whoever is in charge because i've gotten the run around for 2 years straight. O well guess im done buying the game moving forward. Lesson learned by me

Does your girlfriend have her own PSN ID or are you both sharing yours and she's signed in as a guest?
- @EA_Aljo she has her own PSN ID but we have tried guest as well. Both do not work

- @paperstewy14 i haven't heard anything so i just gave up. At least i don't have to buy NHL25 knowing this problem won't be fixed in that verison

Nothing has been announced about co-op in HUT. We'll have to wait and see if that happens.

It's been out of the game for a few years. This was due to many community requests it be removed.
speaking for squad battles only, the ability to play co-op and earn weekly rewards would make the mode significantly more enjoyable instead of having to do it through exhibition games which does offer co-op.
I can understand folks not wanting to play against multiple players in pvp game modes. Thanks.
