Hybrid controls

I'm new to NHL 24.  Used to play a lot of NHL 94 back in the day though.

I find the control stick and total control setups to be confusing.  Passing is unintuitive as are other basic controls.

I found that the hybrid controls are much more what I would normally expect but do understand the deke's are more complicated.

Is there any reason why playing with Hybrid is just a mistake and worth me starting over on my skills with total or skill stick?

On intermediate settings Im usually good for 6-8 goals in a 10 min period game.

Thanks for the input.

The poke checking on skill stick for some reason is way better than on hybrid and total control. You can switch in game and see for yourself. It's instant tell. It's also the best passing controls.

Hybrid you snipe more shooting with the X and B buttons but has the worst poke checking out of the 3. Hitting is meh when compared to total control.

Total control when I switch to it I double my average in hits. It's crazy over powered. Short passes on total control is awful.

For skill stick and total control for whatever reason and this has been in the game for time but when stick handling while holding the pass button you hold on to the puck better and if you play online you will notice players skating literally right at you just waving their stick back and forth and you can't poke them. That's what there doing.

Personally hybrid is just broken. In a bad way.

You can poke players coming right at you with the puck and stickhandling by using DSS.

Yea sure if ur using skill stick or total control but on hybrid you get a tripping penalty. Still doesn't solve the fact that you hold on to the puck more by holding the pass button while stick handling.

Holding the pass button does not make you keep control of the puck better when stick handling.

I mean Eki and Henreek spoke about it earlier this year in their streams. It's told it's a must use in the comp pro clubs community so....It's pretty night and day when testing it out for urself. It's not like it's a secret lol.
