Hey there, @KCRUFF1
He'll have to play his first NHL shift in order to be added to the roster.

Sorry about that. What I mean is that once he plays his first NHL shift, he can be added in an upcoming roster update. We'll just have to wait for that to be released. Which, is normally after the beginning of the season. There are still teams that haven't played their first game yet so most likely, it'll happen shortly after that.

Connor Bedard is in the game playing for Regina in the WHL.
There really shouldn’t be any reason EA can’t assign players from this years draft to their teams when the players are already in the game.
At least he is on Chicago for Franchise Mode.In previous games they wait about a week after the season starts to update the rosters.

The reason: The NHLPA.
Ahh, thank you! Appreciate it

Reason is EA. The NHLPA is why they can’t add players who aren’t in the game, but EA is the reason the rosters aren’t up to date.
He’s a part of the Blackhawks when you start a franchise mode and previous versions of the game have had drafted players at launch even before the regular season started. He played yesterday in their first game of the season.
@EA_AljoAnd than remove all the old headshot pictures and replace with the new from the team sites. The new headshots are into the official NHL website since some weeks, so it was before the season start and before the game release. Don't know why you add every year pictures ( 22/23 season and older ) which are one year and older ? I think this game is for season 23/24 and not for season 22/23 ?
- Hester1472 years agoSeasoned Vanguard@Beauts90 There’s a lot to criticize EA, but this is the standard procedure for all sport titles. Typically a week or so after all teams have played a few games; the rosters are updated, and players who have played their first shifts are allowed to be represented in game
