I believe it was pointed out during an interview with the devs that the meter will stay put with no option to turn it off.
I'd like a less obtrusive way of indicating to the player that the pressure is in their favor, but it is what it is right now. First iterations of new features always come with some downsides. I expect this will be addressed by way of patch (if the community can come together to insist on a change) or next year.

Apologies it wasn't relayed here. It was in another thread, but the pressure meter cannot be disabled currently. The team is aware of the requests for this.

I'm out for this year ... Pretty dissapointing that one of the big features the Dev Team promotes is so widely hated by the community.
Yet again, it seems like the Dev Team doesn't listen to the people who buy the game. - 2 years ago
I’ve been very vocal about this, and YES it was a TERRIBLE idea. I also believe that this was already in the game before but without the meter… In fact it was in the game for years…
When you put BIG STUFF on the ice or on the screen EA, at least make it an option to turn it OFF !
I also won’t buy 24 because of this after buying every edition since NHL91.

The pressure system was not in the game previously.
- KlariskraysNHL2 years agoHero@PernellKarl027 Idk if you played the tech test or not. But the feeling you get from a powered up meter is very noticeable compared to anything of the past. Gameplay wise NHL 24 truly feels so much different and the meta will more than likely change.

Not like it’s presented in 24 obviously, but I can show tons of video that when a team is cycling and pinning another one in the zone, you can definitely feel the D team losing abilities and having a very hard time getting out of the zone when they do get a touch of the puck.

But I really hope that players don’t lose too much of their abilities when pinned ? I also hope it can be tuned for offline peeps ?
Imagine a guy like McDavid losing his speed when he gets the chance to jump on a loose puck in the D zone 🤔
- KlariskraysNHL2 years agoHero@PernellKarl027 When I was playing defense in the beta I felt so slow especially if i tried to gain speed from standing still. I was getting walked from behind the goal line til I realized I just can't stop moving or it is game over. I never experienced that from any of the others. Remember I'm also a 6v6 player.

This did not exist previous to NHL 24 so it's possibly confirmation bias.
- KlariskraysNHL2 years agoHero@PernellKarl027 Ok from my opinion it's a team game so we all have to play some proper defense. So I'm Ok with the changes. Also the patch notes/changes from the beta said they reverted the slowness back to 23 standards so that will help a ton. Also with the less than powerful LTing it won't be so bad.
You the wizard with offline stuff so I'm sure you can find settings that would work in the future whenever you move on from 23. - 2 years ago

- RatedxPGxEnigma2 years agoSeasoned Ace@stompy73 It cannot (yet)
- RatedxPGxEnigma2 years agoSeasoned Ace@PernellKarl027 The player speed should be slower now than the beta & we shouldn't have to rely as heavily on you to make it play realistic (which you do a good job of)
- KlariskraysNHL2 years agoHero@PernellKarl027 In the beta when you missed a pokecheck you were severely slow and pretty much walked with ease with no chance of catching them.

I just hope we are able to tune this ourselves when playing offline. I wish we could turn off the display, although I will probably get used to it, but I still have a feeling it will be a little too overpowered for my liking, even with the change since the tech test.
- KlariskraysNHL2 years agoHero@Beauts90 I'll try and make a post tomorrow since I will have the X-Factor edition and answer questions/show screenshots

I usually buy the game around Christmas, mostly to play some games online.
I won't buy if you can't turn that meter off.
- nhluser2 years agoSeasoned Veteran
No buy here until they have an option to turn the pressure meter off.I thought with the short intros/stale presentation this game have to long now this is to much. They change the game to much from the original with this stupid big meters printed on the ice it become to much of a distraction.Probably the system with the pressure thing is a good one but do not put things on the ice we are forced to look at!!!
Just imagine the same thing in FIFA or Madden i promise the fans would do a RIOT but the NHL fans can have it are we less worth or something??

Same here...won't buy the game until we can disable the pressure meter.
There's no way I'm gonna be playing with that thing present on the ice.

Hey, everyone. I hate to hear that some of you have to take the year off because of this. I'll absolutely pass on the feedback. Hopefully, we this will be toggleable at some point in the future. Appreciate all the input.

It’s such an unbelievable oversight. For as much as I absolutely hate it, I guess I’m sticking with 23 until we can have ice without big stupid meters on it.
- RatedxPGxEnigma2 years agoSeasoned Ace@BellisJ01 Is it really though? If this was SDS or 2k I'd get that— but it's tradition at this point with this studio. Besides if they remove it (they won't), it's one less thing to differentiate from '23.
