The "exhaust engine" is really bothering me.It is very arcadey. The "power meter" on the ice is very obnoxious and not the least bit authentic or realistic. I feel like this sort of mechanic belongs in Street Fighter, not NHL 24.More importantly, this "issue" could easily be addressed by just making fatigue more prominent. Your line is caught out there hemmed in your zone, the other team gets change and fresh players, and then you're in trouble because your line is tired and theirs isn't. Make the speed penalty for fatigue way higher - especially when it's in the "red", wherever that is determined to be - and maybe even add in some hunched over/barely moving skating animations. It will be hard to get the puck out of the zone, you will try to get a cover with your goalie or an off-the-glass and out. You arrive at the same outcome as the "exhaust" engine, without the gimmicky, arcadey stuff. And it requires the offensive team to get fresh legs, which the "exhaust engine" is completely missing.Likewise, goalies could have a fatigue bar too, that goes down with lots of shots/movement, goes up between faceoffs and between periods.Again, same outcome, done more authentically/realistically, no gimmicky/arcadey stuff. I guess "improved fatigue engine" isn't as marketable as "exhaust engine". Its kind of insulting that EA thinks hockey as a sport is so boring that we need "special move power bars" in the game.

Buying the game second hand doesn't help in this case, but I understand not wanting to spend your money on a game that you feel isn't worth it.I promise I’ll buy the game brand new once any effort gets put in to offline player/team customization and franchise mode.

@BahamutaI think it’s still possible that they could have fixed some of the worst decisions they made in 23, like removing the restrictions on player/strategy edits. It would make sense that the director wouldn’t get into that in the interview. There’s still some hope there’s improvement, but we won’t know until probably just before the game releases, if not after.

Can we wait anything new to creation zone ? I mean offline side player creation and team creation ?

@007hockey I really should. Constantly finding myself between trying to be reasonable and fair to EA, and being absolutely furious with them.

@Juhani_91_91 I highly doubt it especially considering they all still have the same old boring goalie masks. Maybe some new equipment but logos and such I doubt

@kyl_35 One of these years is offline players will learn. I stopped playing NHL 22 after 2 days. Didn’t buy 23. DEFINITELY not buying 24 after they legit said “didn’t do any work in offline modes”

In the “three year plan” allegedly. So we’ve got to wait even longer for a decent offline game mode? Insane

@007hockey I buy it second hand off marketplace. That way I still get my roster update and I don’t give EA any money. Everyone wins!

Mike knows better than I do so I would assume your assumption is true. As he says though, the gameplay changes provide new ways to enjoy offline modes. It sounds like there are plans for offline modes down the road.

I've certainly bought my fair share of games second hand over the years, but keep in mind, the more legit sales of the game there are, the bigger the budget for new additions and improvements. Buying the game second hand doesn't help in this case, but I understand not wanting to spend your money on a game that you feel isn't worth it.

@007hockey It's boor, that they not be updating mask designs. Would be nice, if we get AHL logos to use in team creation, like as possibility use female players in team creation and. Also some new jersey models would be nice to have team creation. One awesome thing would, that we could upload logos to the game via internet like in 2KNBA
