@jjbyrd04I skipped 23 cause the presentation was a straight scam and the franchise mode "improvement" meant nothing to me, so literal nothing will definitely make me skip 24.
The gameplay better be the most flawless, realest simulation of hockey in existence for me to even consider this at any price, If we're really getting ZERO franchise mode/ roster editing improvements. It full on feels like we're being alienated from these games.Since the day they introduced coaches, strategies, player preferences, and x-factors the game has been an absolute train wreck, full of nothing but bugs. No amount of gameplay improvements would entice me to come back. At this point I don't care if EA is the only option, until I see meaningful changes to Franchise Mode and Be A Pro I have 0 incentive to get this game. I've literally made copy and paste feedback for the past, I dunno, 3 or 4 years. I've yet to see a single bug addressed. And I'm not even talking about asking for new features, it's simply been requests for features to function as intended. To be honest I'm exhausted from making the same requests over and over year after year, but I still make the posts on these forums for meaningful changes because I love hockey and I care about the player-base that love playing Franchise and Be A Pro just as much as I used to.
It’s gonna be so sad for franchise mode guys like me when ultimately true broadcast is still gone for some reason lmaooo. Makes absolutely zero sense how true broadcast is gone. Change regular broadcast to the new one and leave TRUE broadcast true. Or let us edit camera angles like 2k

@KlariskraysNHL
You doing a fine job catching up.
Remember using that shove type animation, trying to defend L2 monsters.
Even think I kinda did that wind back move to throw more powerful hits, but maybe it was more in my head then it actually was that way.
But again, sounds intresting.
@KlariskraysNHL said.. "Also been said in at least 1 video that LTing is next to dead, but that is definitely a wait and see imo."
Yeah it sounds too good to be true, the ugliness usually take some time before it shows It's true color. Ways to exploit the game will definitely happen, its just not known yet how to do so, hopefully we get a way to do so that isnt as frustrating as LTing.
The combination, LTing + Hit bubble, was no fun to deal with, thinking of that makes me glad I quit playing.
Buuuut 24 could be something diffrent, definitely look like it could be that way. ✊Must be a fair amount of new people here judging by the reactions. People need to calm down.
The first trailer never shows much. It's not time to get excited or too mad yet either. You'll find out the real info in the next 8 weeks then you can decide what you think.
The offline guys can go ahead and be disappointed now but only in the lack of attention to their favorite modes, not the communication. In past years EA wouldn't have even told you they didn't touch the offline modes or might say they'll try to get to it after the release. At least they were honest and upfront about it, a far cry from the past where they wouldn't announce the lack of online modes until after all the pre-orders were in.
- bg0vzeyqov1y2 years agoNew Veteran@337fd0ef3db761a8 The syncing issue has to be the reason for the cut presentation in 23 (in 22 it happens sometimes still only during replay transitions)
basically what I'm thinking now is it took them longer than expected to fix it and the back logging of it is why only gameplay has been the major overhaul instead of improved roster editing, franchise or BAP.
Adding those intro cutscenes probably messed with it more so it was cheaper to can replays all together. I don't know of any other video game (offline that is) that goes out of sync with itself lol @337fd0ef3db761a8 wait true broadcast isn’t in the game?
The "exhaust engine" is really bothering me.
It is very arcadey. The "power meter" on the ice is very obnoxious and not the least bit authentic or realistic. I feel like this sort of mechanic belongs in Street Fighter, not NHL 24.
More importantly, this "issue" could easily be addressed by just making fatigue more prominent. Your line is caught out there hemmed in your zone, the other team gets change and fresh players, and then you're in trouble because your line is tired and theirs isn't. Make the speed penalty for fatigue way higher - especially when it's in the "red", wherever that is determined to be - and maybe even add in some hunched over/barely moving skating animations. It will be hard to get the puck out of the zone, you will try to get a cover with your goalie or an off-the-glass and out. You arrive at the same outcome as the "exhaust" engine, without the gimmicky, arcadey stuff. And it requires the offensive team to get fresh legs, which the "exhaust engine" is completely missing.
Likewise, goalies could have a fatigue bar too, that goes down with lots of shots/movement, goes up between faceoffs and between periods.
Again, same outcome, done more authentically/realistically, no gimmicky/arcadey stuff. I guess "improved fatigue engine" isn't as marketable as "exhaust engine". Its kind of insulting that EA thinks hockey as a sport is so boring that we need "special move power bars" in the game.
- @Jagavekov See that is how you view it. I view the exhaust engine as their way to try and combat ragging the puck. They are encouraging people to be in the offensive zone and working the puck around. Being on the Penalty Kill will feel probably even worse now showing true nature to how it would be in real hockey with them tiring and the offense getting better chances. You can't just hold onto the puck in the offensive zone to get the meter up you gotta cycle and get shots. Also note while the defense gets weaker the offense also gets a boost in stats. So you can't go around skill zoning on defense you actually have to attack and force plays. And your method doesn't work for WoC so this system takes care of all the modes.

@KlariskraysNHL This system seems like it was definitely geared towards WoC. I think it’s a great idea, only if it requires actual puck movement to make a difference and not just half wall to the point and back on the power play for example.
I’m my opinion, this should ONLY decrease the defensive team attributes and not increase the offensive teams. I feel like shooting could become a little overpowered and we would see more long range shots go in that probably shouldn’t. @Beauts90Nah it's geared towards Ultimate Team imo. They hate skillzoning defense so the best way to punish them is a system like this. This means a controlled player more than likely has to take the player closest to the player with the puck to force a turnover instead of just camping in front of the net waiting for the offense to make their move.
