The player trying to throw the hit around the 50 second mark has me second guessing any improvements we may expect to see on defense. Was that a pirouette body check attempt? The rest of the clips do actually look solid as far a fluidity of the game and player movements. Just worried as usual the bias will be extensively towards making offense more lethal.

It's a poorly executed hit. I don't see a problem with them having little affect. Regardless, offense is only as lethal as defense lets them be.

Hopefully that isn't the norm for AI players next year, or was this a user controlled player in the clip?

I don't know if it was user or AI controlled. Regardless, hitting is improved and shouldn't be judged solely on this one attempt that is used to show how you can use the new vision control to better avoid hits.

@EA_Aljoit's like they don't even listen to the fans man. I saw only 3 good things in the trailer. The AI rework (and we won't even know if it's good until it comes out) , Skill one timers, and the increased ability to face the puck on defense.
This game desperately needs more defense options and the offense needs to be slowed down but this looks like the complete opposite. They were talking like it was hard to walk the blue and create space in the previous NHLs when in reality that was the easiest part of the game.
Another huge concern is if EA can implement this CORRECTLY. Almost every major change they implemented in the past games has been either broken or felt wonky. Let's take a look at a list
-BAP rework just made the mode more broke and is just as dull as last time
- X factor implementation sucks as only 5 are worth running as they're extremely unbalanced
- Customizing your own skating animation is a buggy mess. You can really make some glitchy animations happen with the right settings
-Lax goal. I don't even have enough room to write about all the bugs this move had and still has.
- Goalie tether. This shows that no one making the game has ever touched goalie in their life. Possibly the worst mechanic ive ever seen. And it's on by DEFAULT.
- Reverse hitting. You would get penalties for your own reverse hit when this first came out.... Nice QA testing.
-The off the wall and net dekes that was a huge selling point for 21 ( I can't even remember) ended up being pretty useless since it ends up in your getting hit 90% of the time.
-Presentation. They made this a huge selling point in the previous game and now they're trying to do it again? Maybe 2nd times the charm.
So now they're trying to overhaul skating? The most vital point in hockey. If they screw this up it's going to be a long year considering 0 work is done on a game after they release it. - EA_Aljo11 months ago

Those off the board banks are very useful. They just need to be properly timed. If you're getting hit a lot, you're not timing them well. The behind the net one doesn't need the same timing since you're not banking the puck around a defender. It's very useful for a quick turn in the opposite direction.
It sounds like that bug with reverse hitting was resolved.
I'm not sure what you mean by LAX goal. Can you be more detailed?
I don't have any new details on X-Factors. We'll have news on that later.
I think the new skating is going to be well received. It's more fluid and agile. It's just something you have to feel rather than see.
Everything else you mentioned isn't covered by gameplay.
There were several patches for NHL 24 so I don't see how 0 work is done after the game releases.

@EA_AljoLax= Lacrosse so I was talking about the lacrosse moves
"There were several patches for NHL 24 so I don't see how 0 work is done after the game releases."
I'll clarify by saying major changes. Sure they'll add jerseys and fix small things but they rarely bother to make major fixes or changes after a game is released. The only major thing I can remember in 24 being fixed was the pressure meter scaling yet there are still a large number of issues present and we've pretty much been told to by the new 70$ game and screw off. Just a few examples
- Bap has MAJOR bugs still.
- They did not touch elite edges all year even though it sees play in almost every WOC game.
- They didn't bother to make changes to the reverse hitting or hitting bind in 24.
- Hitting people and taking a penalty for it while trying to go for a rebound or take a one time wasn't touched
- Injury time scaling in the 1 period quick play mode
- The store not displaying items that can be bought for WOC coins
Those are all major issues that have been around for years or just appeared in 24 and were not touched. That's also a very short list. I didn't even start with HUT or franchises. There is almost 0 meaningful work done after a NHL game is released and you know it. - EA_Aljo11 months ago

You can see all of the patch notes here. A lot more changed than you're aware of.
I would have absolutely loved if the issue with interference penalties when shooting loose pucks was addressed in 24. It was easily my biggest complaint.
A few of the patches had changes to reverse hits. I haven't seen complaints about penalties being taken with them. I've never taken a penalty myself using reverse hitting.
As far as the lacrosse shot goes, I think I've had it scored on me once. It's very easy to defend. I definitely don't like that it's one button, but seeing as how it's difficult to score, it doesn't really bother me.
I never saw any feedback about injury scaling in quickplay. What do you want to see change?
The WoC store has had some issues with the displayed inventory. The team is aware of that so I'm optimistic it'll be addressed in 25.

@EA_Aljomy complaints with the lacrosse goal aren't with the goal itself. It's neat to have and when it works it works but it's so buggy. You can still do the thing where you throw it in the air and it comes back to your stick like it's on a string and take a shot. The goalies seem to not understand how to defend it If you do it right in front of their face. It's kinda dumb how consistent you can score with it in front of the net. As far as how often it's scored I'm not going to complain to much because as you said it's easy to defend but I would like to see the goalies in WOC have a slight chance of saving it. I have never seen a goalie make a save in WOC on the goal but when I'm playing on superstar or all star in online versus the goalies stop it pretty easy.
The injury time scaling in quick play is one I haven't seen mentioned here but twice so to be fair it doesn't seem to get brought up alot. Basically I think its messed up because the quick play has 5 real minutes and the other modes have the sped up 20 minutes. When you get hurt in quick play let's just say 30 seconds to a minute into the game you won't get healthy until like the last 30 seconds of the game. Me and my friend tested this with the same build in both modes. To put it simpler you spend more real life time injured In the quick play mode than you do in other modes. It's kind of like the setting where you can set the penalties to last a real 2 minutes in offline modes but for injuries. On another note, it seems like you agree that they don't make major changes but you cant really say that because you work for EA.
