@EA_Aljo But madden is mainly a thing in USA only. Football is the most popular sport in the world so it makes sense for FC. Ice hockey definitely is niche but has fans worldwide, at least in USA, Canada and Europe. If madden was worth it then NHL is worth it too, the numbers should be similar. Europeans should offset the USA. Besides there hasn't been an NHL game on PC for a VERY long time so people are thirsty. The first itteration definitely would sell decently. After a year, sure the sales probably would drop. Like "tape to tape" ice hockey game sold ~90k copies while being an indie game with 0 marketing. NBA live died because it wasn't on PC, NHL will die too if it isn't offered to broader audiences. PC gaming is more popular in europe than USA and people here are thirsty for NHL.
No one is saying it would sell millions but since the game is already developed anyway (which is the most expensive part) the PC sales would cover the porting expenses at the least. And hey if it flops then no more NHL on PC and no financial loss for EA. But saying it's not viable without even trying or testing the waters sound a bit ignorant. PC gaming isn't the same as in mid 2000's when it was barely alive and piracy was thriving.
It's also a huge shame that we only NBA 2K now and no competition. NHL would have 0 competition on PC.
