One button passing consistency

Can we please keep the button designations for one-button passing consistent while on a rush? It is endlessly aggravating how the buttons switch around depending on what player is on the rush with you. I'll be on a rush with players "Y" and "X" and then for some after "Y" passes to "X", "Y" player suddenly becomes listed as "A" because they are in fact a D-man. Oops.

I get you want to designate the buttons to a given position, but it is incredibly hard to plan a play if these designations keep switching while in the middle of a passing play.  Can we just keep the button designations consistent until possession is switched over?
