Community ManagerThere are multiple calculations going on for this. Speed of the pass, passing ratings of the players involved, positioning, etc. It would be good to see a better video of this as the one you provided is kind of stutter-y.

You can tell that EA decided the pass was intended for #29 and thus instructs #6 to avoid reception based on how the player control indicator switches to #29 (as it will always auto-switch to the intended recipient). Sometimes you'll see this happen with a subsequent animation like the player lifting their leg up to avoid disrupting the pass but any animation like that is absent in this sequence, so it makes it look as though #6 is just broken.
Good clip! Hopefully this can be addressed and/or maybe there's a pass accuracy % we can set in our settings to try and limit these from happening.
- @KidShowtime1867 In the clip it thinks that 28 is the recipient and somehow not 29 or 6. That’s what I’m so confused about. Like if the pass is “too fast” wouldn’t the offensive awareness kick in to try and knock down the pass (I’d even take a bobble in that scenario too)?

You could lower the online pass accuracy like @KidShowtime1867 mentioned. This also means all your passes are going to require more precise aiming though.

@EA_AljoI get this but despite calculations, why doesn't the puck simply go to the player you direct it to, even with pass assist at 100? Rather it arbitrarily goes to a direction based on the strategy chosen many times and frankly ends up going directly to the cpu players. I simply want passes to go to who I aim them to go to! BTW these are NHL players right? I get Draisaitl is a better passer than Joe Shmo but at the same time, these guys earn a living on this and most of them can pass EXTREMELY accurately when given a nanosecond...why can't the game reflect (and reSPECT) this? Ultimately passing should be more based on the choice of the user and not as much on the stats of the player.
