@EA_AljoBut remaping the buttons doesnt change anything though, you still have the speed burst and puck protect connected to each others. It doesnt resolve the problem, you just move it elsewhere
What we need is a way to remap abilities individually in-game.
I dont want the speed burst anywhere else than L3...but I want the puck protect activator elsewhere though. You can't do that by simply moving L3 to a different trigger/button.
I wanted to move R3 (reverse hit) back to B through remaping the control....but then it also mean moving the puck chop away from R3 too. That doesnt do it. So it's important that we have the option to move/remap the abilities separatly in-game.
I absolutely get what you're saying. I'm just mentioning how I personally resolved this. I would prefer to have the old controls back myself.

I know I’m going to be in the minority but I absolutely love the new puck control. It has really cleaned up the gameplay. Gone are the days of abusing it to pop around in the corners. As for the issue the OP is having there is a very simple fix. Stop clicking the LS when you start deking. Or embrace the protect puck and finish the goal off of it.

I'm with you on this. Not sure why it's so difficult to not click RS while executing a deke.

Yep. As much as I tried, I just couldn't stop clicking it. It drove me crazy. I'm comfortable now with moving those functions to the paddles, but still wish I could just have the old controls back. Except protect puck. I'm glad that was moved.

@Big_E_Bronco50The problem is not the puck protect in itself...but the fact that you can't either use the puck protect OR stick handles when you click L3. Not clicking on L3 is not a fix...Sometimes you are not really given the choices to use it or not when pressured, need to rush between two players or need to gain some distances from a opponents. And when I do so, I dont want to be forced in protect puck everytime agaisnt my will.
Even though the old protect puck was exploited and abused, I was able to chose which one to use depending on the situation. Not anymore.
If we all had elite controller like Aljo with paddles, we could move the puck protect proc/modifier to a paddle and everyting would be perfect, but we cant with the normal controller. I know they wont bring it back to B unless they make some major adjustement to avoid the abuse again. But at least give the option to deactivate it. It's not like some of us are asking the impossible.- Big_E_Bronco502 years agoRising Vanguard
The way you choose which one is literally by clicking or not clicking LS. You can still choose. Just need some stick discipline.
