Put back the protect button to X/A
Hi, Right now it's impossible for me to deke without triggering the protect puck animation and it makes this game feels TERRIBLE. I can't score 20% of my breakaways or my attacks in the crease aga...

This was heavily exploited and easily one of the areas of the game we had the most feedback about. It's gone and there are no plans to return it. I'm sure it could have stuck around if it was used as intended, but that simply wasn't the case when combined with LT/L2.
@EA_Aljo I agree...it was terrible and it's much more intuitive to use the glide/puck protect function with the right stick. This is simply more like real hockey and one reason why NHL24 is actually better than previous years in gameplay.

It's by far the worst NHL game I've ever played and I've played all of them since the beginning.

Ya thought so ... you can protect the puck better manually, and puck protect should be the free hand swatting a stick away or bracing the body to bump past a defender .
