@HighTmatthew I agree atleast when you see someone who lands big body checks, they have to upgrade their loadout to actually be good at that, therefore it actually costs them something, like putting up the body check stats, maybe having in truculence or a hitting boost. Plus they actually need to time the hit and risk getting a penalty.
Hip check requires none of that, No skill, no stats, No risk of penalties, No counters. Its a total joke.

Easily the worst mechanic in the game. Not sure how anyone thought this was a good idea.
Current hipchecks are basically last year's crosschecks.
One button flapjacks are not the issue - it's the huge grace period given to them for penalties. If we fix that, we'll all be in a good place. That said, hipchecks are getting tweaked in the next patch.
And guys, you are SERIOUSLY missing out not learning the new checking controls - my buddy and I are sniper/playmaker with -5 in bodychecking and are still decimating fools with well timed hits - they are still hilariously OP when done right, better than hipchecks imo
Why risk an elbowing or cross checking penalty or bother timing hits when you can press a button anywhere in the vicinity of a player and it'll suck them (and anyone else around them) into a devastating hipcheck that drains half their stam?
There was absolutely no reason for them to change the hitting controls. And absolutely no reason to change the Button mapping.
I avg Almost 11 hits per game with these new controls and still hate them. Wind up hitting isnt a thing and the hitting controls that have been a staple of this game for years didn't need to be changed.
