Re: NHL 24 Difficulty Feedback

I agree 100%. Scoring is darn near impossible. I miss when I could just play after work for a bit and enjoy myself. This one it seems like you have to master every deke to even have a chance to score. I don’t have the time or the patience to master this game. I just want to play it.

I'm playing Rivals on HUT on various levels depending on what rating the team I'm playing. Anything above my own teams rating I'm struggling at Rookie, I've won a few on Superstar against teams rated in the 60s.

It just seems no matter what I do it won't go in and no matter how much I dominate the CPU scores at the first few attempts.

On 23 I regularly finished in the top 50/20 on rivals without reverting to glitch goals (a pet hate of mine).

The reaction time of the CPU AI now is crazy. Even when my team is well better I cannot keep up with the reaction time of the AI. Wouldn't be an issue if my AI teammates had the same reaction time, but they don't.

@Stubo_NHL24 OK I see, I usually play franchise, I'm not to familiar with rivals/hut , I know on superstar this year with the gameplay setting adjusted the game is alot more difficult then last year, took me longer to get it just right, but I can see what you mean.

    Couldn't agree more mate.

    So bloody frustrating.

It has taken all the fun out of the game.

Offline. I like to play the 3s circuit every year to unlock everything. It’s not that I’m losing playing pro or semi pro.  It’s that every game takes 10-20 periods cause while my defense is on point I can’t put the puck in the net unless it’s luck.

I respect that EA wants to present a different challenge this year but it’s too much. They made the goalie superhuman

Instead of slowing the game down, making passing more difficult, making shots slower, making the players skate at inhuman pivots and deking, etc. they've opted to just crank up goalie save reactions to make it seem as if they don't suck by getting scored on by every shot because it's so bloody easy to create high danger chances.

HUT can be frustrating. You have to remember your last games in 23 were probably with high rated players and your playing with lower rated player to start 24. Just keep plugging away and it will get easier when you collect and build higher rated cards. Also, Rivals will always be on All-Star. Squad Battles can be adjusted for difficulty.

I play Squads on Superstar and taking my licks for sure but that's part of the new learning curve. If you play enough you'll collect enough to build some cards and you'll start to plow through the CPU like you did in 23.

Play around with your strategies too. The CPU will adjust so if something worked once or twice it probably won't a 3rd time.

Rivals has been a bummer because of push button dekes and hitting but when they miss it opens up a lot of ice. Once you get some cards with higher offensive stats, your success rate with increase there too.

Keep at it and you'll get back to top 50

First of all, in HUT you can't adjust the sliders so you have to deal with the 5 difficulty levels already in place. For me the big problem is not All Star or Superstar being too hard. Those levels are mean to be pretty hard. The big problem is semi pro and eeven rookie bieng really too hard for what they are supposed to be. Now on rookie, cpu players hit hard and goalies are stupidly too good! On rookie, one timer should be almost automatic and goalies are not supposed making all those desperate saves. Rookie is supposed to be stupid dumb easy and it's really not the case rignt now!

This is the first time that I have played NHL since the PS3 2015 version and playing anything in the HUT section offline as I will not pay sony for the rights to play online for a rediculous amount of money that is unnecessary to charge for online play. Then EA is charing for certain online content as well with EA Live. Anyways, I have found that with an 86 overall team at the moment on PRO I am having grave difficulty playing a 77 overall team, my skaters when I pass the puck either skate away from the puck or the puck goes no where near my team. I had many instances where I go into the attacking zone and none of my players are there. The cpu on my team doesn't go to the loose puck and one-timers are the most irritating thing to try and convert. I have found that on my team lest a player is above 90+ they are slow in responsivness in every capacity delayed in moving in the opposing direction sluggish at best to move any what fast. The cpu/AI oppposing team with less overall seems to make hits and checks when I am not even close and execute everything possible the cpu on my team cannot. I was hoping to try HUT for a fun experience however the only light is the HUT rush component, and some of the HUT moments (others are ridiculously untouchable), but the HUT offline single player has to be the most frustrating to play and I have lost 3 in a row between pro and semi-pro against teams less than 83 overall. Most demoralizing aspect of the game, and it sucks and the game play settings have no bearing in the HUT mode in any regard. So I may just have to stop playing in this specific section as it is not worth the pointess stress of a game with no significant value it adds to life what so ever.
