Reverse Hitting
Across HUT and 6s, I have yet to see a single person use a reverse hit. What a waste of time and resources, not to mention ruining the skill stick and puck protect. This did not warrant being a key feature for this years game.

- @RSall14 When I am straight lining down the side I have used it because dmen think they got an easy lined up hit. The ones who take the time to learn the new things and find out how well and when it works best will succeed.
I keep seeing people use it, not sure if it's ever intentional or not but I hate not having my little leg kicks; really wish we could full customize and outright remove the stuff we never use
- @TTZ_Dipsy I saw a guy miss-clicking the reverse hit 5-6 times in one game yesterday, possibly trolling at some point though. But some more from other guys and myself accidentally using reverse hit 2-3 times while trying to simply move my stick around. Reverse hit is a problem, it shouldnt trigger so easily when just using your skill stick with an accidental small push on the stick.
Same goes for protect puck always activating when ever you go for a small rush, particularly annoying near by the net....I still think they are terrible changes this year, possibly the worse ones so far.
100% agree they need to let us customize our control or give us the option to choose between old and new control... There's definitely something different with the reverse hit in 24 vs the leg kick in previous years. I can't recall ever unintentionally doing a leg kick in previous NHL games but in about a dozen games in NHL 24 I've done the reverse-hit two or three times ( in total, not per game ) when I'm just trying to move my stick.
This is definitely on me. Each time after the animation happens I've noticed that I've clicked the stick, but it's odd that it's suddenly something that's much more noticeable. The reality is that we've all probably been clicking that stick button more than we thought and will have to adjust.
I wish the reverse hit wasn't in the game. You should only be able to do it from a stand still. Who the hell reverse hits while skating with the puck?
It's definitely going to be abuse at some point. I've seen it 3 times used the way it should be and it's led to 3 odd man 2 in 1's and it's a really poor mechanic.
Just punishes good defense.
Maybe if it was linked with a modifier like L2 + RS to reverse hit, accidental hit wouldnt happen.

I agree. Plus in hockey reverse hits are a function of a player using their balance to absorb contact. As such this should simply be a function of the offensive user's balance in response to the defensive user's hit attempt (with or without the puck). I think you should remove the "Michigan" as a skill move with triangle and make the reverse hit button more of a function of leaning on one's stick or into a shot. I HATE when I want to lean into a shot and rip one when my player tries to "reverse hit" no one! This would be a more intuitive function and more like actual hockey.
Reverse hitting is fun against the button guy's and the guys who let their AI"s chase you down ,one of the few things about the game that actually is fun

I took to Reverse Hitting in HUT very early (sorry I didn't see this thread in October) and though you still give up the puck from time to time I can see it baffle my opponents. Experienced opponents do bait me from time to time with a fake hit but I've found using Reverse Hitting a great way to make a 'short pass.' Too often the <5' pass is riffled or not even close to your teammate but the Reverse Hitting action works like a forward drop pass.
