Just wanted to ask if there is a more concrete date for the mentioned updates. Especially the hybrid controls as I cannot play with the current options.

Not at this time. The best we have for an ETA is by the end of October.
You know......I wish there was a forum in which the developers could chime in and answer questions their fans ask. Doesn't have to be all the time, but just do a daily or every other day pop in with a quick update and reasons on time frame being so late or anything in between.
This would make so much sense in terms of helping the game flourish. Also keep your player base from refunding the game when you fail to insert a key element to the game on day 1.
Now we have our hybrid controls again (thanks for that!!!). However, in my opinion there are also some questionable features in the game in general. I'm talking about the manager mode. How can it be that I suddenly have no more chances at the same level as in previous versions? I've been playing NHL for decades and know my way around ice hockey. In the new game, I've often found that I easily concede 6 goals in a period and have no chance to defend myself. I also get penalties for ridiculous offences. At the face-off I get 2 minutes for interference for nothing. When I'm shorthanded, I get a goal about 3/4 of the time. So what were the programmers thinking here?
In addition, the hybrid control is no longer the same as it was 2 years ago and the function of one of the trick has been removed (deke). I simply don't understand this and am very disappointed. Anyone else who made the same frustrating experience?
there are a lot of things broken in this game. You are right, they messed with a couple things in hybrid. The gameplay is sluggish, the hitting is trash, the ability to do a simple deke is gone with hybrid. I don't get what EA was trying to do, they effectively ruined the gameplay. 23's game play was so much better and I find myself playing that more often. If this is how EA thinks the game should be, I may stop buying it.
This is disappointing for me because the game i play the most by a long shot is NHL
I agree with you on that. I've been playing the franchise mode for a long time and spend hours playing the game. Now when I play in 24, it takes away any reason to continue playing the game. The goals are scored from dodgy situations and the goals conceded are arbitrary. You hardly have any chance to check your opponent and if you do, he immediately picks himself up and still has the disc while you lose the disc after a check. It's totally unbalanced and the erroneous penalties for interference are really just a annoyance and the real interference!
In short, I'm fed up with this game and will go back to my 22 game. If there is no update for the 24 version, I will sell the game.
All I can say about the control system is that if you've been playing hybrid for many years, you don't want to switch, indeed you can't do it any more. When I now see that the hybrid is no longer the same as in previous versions, it's just frustrating and I have no understanding for it at all. Dear EA guys, please do your job better and correct your mistakes and erroneous ideas quickly!
