Then release it with "cross-play" which would really just mean the XBL and PSN servers would take the additional concurrent players.

1. We all are aware of the sales vs others like fifa.  This makes the problem worse.  It means less sales.  I'm not buying a console for 1 game.  I won't be buying again this year because I'm not paying 750 bucks to play a game.  I have not bought since xbox one.   I've bought my gaming pc and do not plan to buy a console when I have way better.  Either way you slice it.  It comes out to less sales because I'm not even close to thinking this way.  How many individual copies didn't sell this year again?

If EA is not willing to make the investment in the NHL franchise then they should lose the license and let another company develop the game. Why not just develop the game once every 3-5 years? 

@wiiiiiickedOmg get over this awful take. You know the NHL license isn't exclusive to EA right? Any of these companies can acquire the NHL license to use if they want. You know the license costs like around 4mil per year. There is no way they could afford to go after 3 to 5yrs. And if they went to something like this offline modes would end up getting zero attention because they would need to focus on the modes that generate them consistent money. You don't see NBA2K, MLB The Show, Fifa, Madden or any of them switching anytime because the cost of licenses ain't cheap.

So feel free to go ask 2K to get back in the hockey video game business.  Or ask the Tape 2 Tape people to create a more realistic hockey game using the NHL license.

I really think the game would do great on PC, game pass or steam. I agree with the one guy that mentioned the PGA sales too, doesn't make sense.

I can appreciate that it is not financially optional to develop a game once every 3 to 5 years, that isn't practical. However, I do think the way you approached answering this problem was a little uncalled for. EA are the only company actively making hockey games and there is a fan base that feels alienated not being able to play it because they do not have a console. Being forced to resort to emulators with older games that are glitchy and lack performance. 

I understand it must be frustrating to answer the same old questions regarding this argument but what else do you expect? There are fans like me who want to play a hockey game and are not willing to invest hundreds of pounds or dollars into a console just to play one game. This game would be fantastic on computer, as a Port or even via game pass or EA play. It doesn't make sense to say NHL doesn't have a market for computer when almost all the other EA games are on pc. Of course, it wouldn't compete with Fifa or Madden but I bet it will do better than the golf games. 

I know at this point I'm only preaching to the choir as this argument has been made ever since NHL 09 but it is a huge shame not being able to experience NHL24 or any of the ones previous to that. As a huge fan of hockey, it hurts. I hope you can appreciate that.

I absolutely understand your sentiment on this. It's very unfortunate that we have a community of unhappy PC players. I'd love to see you all be able to play our game without the need for a console. Hopefully, we'll see cloud gaming be an option in the future. 

Don't underestimate the PC gold crowd. Golf is a huge, worldwide sport. Also, I'm assuming there are some big technical differences with online play between our PGA and NHL games. Not to mention the hardware needed to play these games. Besides that, we also have to consider support for a PC version. It's a very costly endeavor that needs a larger playerbase to support.

I accept I was naive to rule out golf like that. I don't follow it so therefore I really shouldn't say whether or not it would do better compared to other sports but I do believe Hockey would be a good contender as it is growing in Eastern, Northern Europe and already has a big following in North America, as you know.

However, I appreciate your reply and your understanding on how frustrating this is for PC players. I certainly hope there is an option for us in the not so distant, preferably, future.
