You disappoint me at every turn
You’ve done it. I don’t know who you are but you’ve done it. You’ve ruined the game I love. You’ve ruined the experience I can no longer have with my friends. You’ve ruined the countless hours I’ve spent playing this game. For gods sake this game is all I ever play and there’s no use. I can never win. It’s the truth. You get so close and right before you get the green light, it’s taken away from you yet you never see it to begin with. EASHL has become a cesspool for who can abuse the game harder. Whose idea was it to make an ability that helps on breakaways in a game riddled with cherry pickers? Whose idea was it to bring female characters into the game in order to make more people sexist? Whose idea was it to make invincible abilities that mean nothing when you use them yourself? The game is rigged from the start. No matter how hard you try you’ll never truly win. You’ll always come across the same team yet it’s different every time. Maybe one game you get swamped 20-0. Maybe one game you lose 0-1. Maybe one game you lose 0-7 because there’s no chance that your own computer teammate will try to play actual defense and you just pray their goalie isn’t better than yours (he is). May we one game you lose 0-4 yet the other team has only 4 shots on goal. Maybe one game you lose 3-4 in the final minute because you flick up in front of the net with 0.1 seconds left on the clock and their guy just happens to know an unstoppable move. Maybe one game you lose 0-7 because you can’t generate offense when your defensive bot stands in front of the opposing teams goalie and blocks your own shots for them. There’s no way to win and yes these are all games that actually happened. This isn’t even covering finals. I know there’s no actual way to win in finals. These anecdotes are just from regular seasons. My club is in division 8 and I’m facing off against diamonds that are Joe NHLs because they get banned for offensive names and just make another account. I’m also facing off against clubs that were banned due to probably having a toxic name that just create a new one. Here’s an idea: stop focusing on a battle pass that doesn’t do anything and focus on fixing the game. This is why there is no player base. This is why people have to go into gambling rehab due to HUT. This is why people go into debt trying to get the next best prebuild. This game is seriously at the worst point it’s ever been. Tell me: what other game mode are you able to compete as a 6v6 squad with your friends against another group of friends in a fun and meaningful way? There is none. You’re either forced to endure this sisyphusian nightmare or not be able to play the sport you love at all. Also what happened to handicap accessible controls? There is a player base that has been forced away from this game due to the ableistic trend this game is going. Taking away the most rudimentary control that are easy to map onto an accessibility controlled? Shame on you. Shame on you all. Sitting in your ivory towers unfazed by the player bases cries for meaningful change as you stack up dollar after dollar with no need to change anything. You’ve won. You’ve made profit. Congratulations. It came at the price of everything this game stood for. But at least I can buy a banner with McDavids signature on it, right?
