Explaination of different attributes?

There’s lots of discussion about what exactly certain attributes actually do.  Lots of curiousity how certain attributes compliment each other.

For example : offensive awareness.. helps you receive pucks from teammates’ passes.. how does puck control relate to that?  What’s exactly the difference between puck control and offensive awareness? And defensive awareness.. that helps pick off passes.. but so does hand eye for saucer passes?

strength, checking and balance all seem to be affected by height and weight. I know strength helps with player collisions and bumps in front of the net… does balance play a role in that too? Or just when he has the puck? Does strength help with traits like no contest? Or is it puck control?

also all the abilities ,.. there are simple explanations for them but it would be nicer if they just said “gold tipper increases hand eye 10%”

I wish there was a comprehensive explanation for all the attributes straight from the developers . That’s all I want for Christmas

    Hey there.

Puck control is how well you retain control of the puck. This helps with receiving passes and getting settled. When you're settled, your accuracy for passing and shooting goes up. Offensive awareness affects how quickly you react to within the field of vision for offensive scenarios. So, higher offensive awareness means you react quicker for gaining control of the puck. Then, the puck control attributes kick in.

Hand eye helps with batting down pucks and deflections. Since saucers passes are in the air, hand eye helps corral those better.

Balance helps you hang on to the puck when getting bumped. It doesn't have any affect when you're not carrying the puck. Weight has some affect on hitting and balance though. Mainly, it's the relative speed of the players and the angle that you hit them at plus the attributes and weight.

Strength and puck control help No Contest a bit. Anything that impacts pickups will help since it doesn't change your reaction time or if you can accept the puck.

Hopefully, we'll have better explanations in the future. The thing is, if we say x ability gives you x% boost, you're only going to focus on that number. There's more to it though as it's not so much about a percentage boost as raising the chances of success. Which depends on different variables and conditions.
