Hey man you bring up a great point. I play every game and completely revamp the speeds for most of the players.
For instance I play as the redwings and even though guys like Rasmussen and even Chiarot have high nhl edge speeds I still lower them down to 85 and 80 respectively. The eye test for me shows they don’t stand out at all in games I watch. Maybe endurance or agility have something to do with it.
Be interested to see your ratings for rest of the league if you have a downloadable roster on ps5 or spreadsheet.

pjdetroit I think you also have to take into account number of speed bursts and average speed measurements as well. I wouldn't rate guys who rarely hit top speed as high, so guys like Ras and Chiarot would take a hit. That or you tank endurance on those guys rather than speed. I'm sure there's a sweet spot.
What I'd really like to see is a speed burst stamina bar. So you'd have the main stamina bar we have now which basically just dictates shift length, but you also have a burst stamina bar which fills ups and depletes rapidly when you use sprint. You could use the Endurance rating to dictate how fast the burst bar fills back up. That would greatly increase the significance of endurance in the game which I also think is needed.
- KlariskraysNHL, this could also solve the overall issue as well. You could have players closer to McDavid's speed rating but still give McDavid a significant advantage in endurance. Just factor in how much endurance means to player overall and bam, McDavid's overall is significantly higher than everyone's again.
McDavid's top speed isn't all that crazy when you compare it to other top end skaters after all. It's the number of times he hits that top speed that's crazy. A burst bar would be amazing for showcasing that.

Yeah endurance makes sense. I’ve even tinkered w lowering acceleration 10 points lower than speed for non star players but not sure acceleration shows a difference. A guy on YouTube did a test with acceleration lowered to 36 and it was very similar to an 86.

I honestly don’t see much difference with acceleration either. It’s tough to really do anything outside of speed that makes a truly noticeable difference.
