Is there a reason why the stick on this game only gets stuck on defense but can shoot directly through someone on offense? So many times on defense my stick can get stuck on someone and it screws me out out of a defensive chance until I gain control again. I have replays saved of sticks going directly through legs when deking or shooting....what a joke!

Lets review so you can follow along better shall we? Defenders can't even hold out their stick without being slowed down (nerfed) in all my hockey experience that is the craziest thing I have ever seen. Defenders can no longer send the puck down ice in the air, say like on a PK (nerfed) Poke checking is something that has never made sense to me either, you have some control over it but you can be in position and still throw your stick into their leg/skates for a trip. I am not saying I can't defend "even the most skilled players" I have played this game since NHL 10 and am a top player EVERY year. I am saying defense is not enjoyable half the time because it does not feel like you have as many tools as the offense. Per usual, EA caters to the guys who have to have 5 points a game or they whine and complain, I see it every year and like I said I have been around a LONG LONG time. Every time in the past when the defense seems to have a tool that works or feels great, it gets taken away. So stop giving me "tips" as I am sure I could skate circles around you in this game, that is not what this post is about but you seem to think I am here asking for tips from players worse than me.

That’s a problem a lot of players have with EA and their changes. They over compensate (nerf) an ability to artificially boost another (in this case the pressure system). EA made keeping it in (pressure) easier for the offence and harder for the defence to get it out which creates unfair gameplay. Of course there are other ways to clear the puck out but that doesn’t mean certain abilities we already had should be nerfed so much that they’re barely effective anymore. Maybe the offence needs to work smarter and harder to gain and keep the pressure.EA just keeps dumbing down this game. The one touch dekes are a prime example. It took time, patience and actual skill to pull them off using the skill stick (hence the name). Now any newbie with a bit of timing can do them. Same with icon passing. It should take skill to perform certain aspects of the game. The skill gap between all levels of players has definitely decreased over the past couple years and not for good reasons.

Good offense is going to know how to use the pressure system to their advantage. Just like good defense is going to know how to kill it. I prefer the old way where we had no pressure system, but it is what it is. I've adapted and games are still competitive and fun. I don't see the pressure system as being unfair. Regardless, I don't think they're overpowered. Someone might be good at hitting one button for a deke, but they need to know a lot more than that to compete at higher levels. While I would rather not have icon passing, you still need an open lane to connect passes. It's pretty easy to aim your pass and hit 1 button. It's on the defense to take away those lanes and break up passes. While the tools might be easier, they don't make up for a lack of general hockey play knowledge and execution. Otherwise, you wouldn't see the same people consistently at the top of the leaderboards.

Hello. The puck can't be affected by the stick when it's passing through a player. So, the stuck doesn't get stuck on them when shooting, but the shot is nullified.

I am aware how it works, MY POINT if you would actually read the post is why does your stick ONLY get stuck on the defensive side and not on offense? We all know EA hates defense because they nerf it every year to appease the fan boys who love having 4-5 points a game but it makes zero sense (Like everything other decision made by this company) Just make a hockey game.

We don't nerf defense every year. Yeah, it's a challenging position to play, but there are many of us not really having any issues defending. I'd love for the slow down when poking to be gone, but otherwise, if you pay attention to how your opponents are playing and adapt, defenders are very capable of stopping the most skilled forwards.

You're the first person to bring up the stick only getting stuck on defense. So far, it hasn't been an issue. Especially with forwards losing the puck when their stick clips through objects/bodies. I'll watch for more feedback on this. Thanks.

My point still remains, skilled defenders know how to stop even the most skilled forwards.

If you're carrying the puck and your stick passes through players/objects, there won't be a change in animation. The puck should come loose though. If it doesn't, please get a video so we can see what is happening.

If the defenders stick gets stuck on the carrier, yes, that can happen. In those cases, keeping your body close to the carrier can help defend.

The backhand puck flip/dump was admittedly nerfed on purpose for the “pressure system”.
