NHL 26 Kickstarters for PC & Switch 2

This yearly debate is tiresome - we want it - EA says they don’t believe it will be profitable or profitable enough.

There is an easy answer - put it on Kickstarter and EA gets to decide what the magic sales number is. Your customers get to prove their commitment with pre-sales - win/win at putting this frustrating argument to bed right (and costs EA nothing but a few mins of time)? Either way, the proof is measurable and not an arbitrary argument about theoretical estimates and if the kickstarters fail - the customers are to blame, not EA Management/Leadership.

This can be revisited the same way every few years and it puts NHL’s platform future in the supporters’ hands. Please present this to the right internal people - the fans will thanks you for the opportunity to make our request a reality.

Yep, pre-order site shows only xbox and playstation as release platforms, PC users get ignored again.

  • It is an absolute joke that EA hasn’t released any NHL game on Nintendo Switch (even though Nintendo is king of the console market). I don’t care if it’s a half baked NHL game . I just want hockey on the Switch 2 now.

    I’d contribute to a Kickstarter.

  • Ready to pay towards the Kickstarter for NHL on Switch 2. I was buying up all the EA sport games on the OG switch to hopefully encourage them to BRING BACK NHL TO NINTENDO. But I’m not giving another penny to EA now until they do. Enough is enough.

Let’s just be honest here. I get the whole fifa vs nhl fan base , sell rate debate. Fair enough. But EA is a cross platform expert. They don’t make exclusives, they make cut and paste. I know that’s a rub but if that’s what you are good at. The debate of market and such is baseless. A switch 2 version should be a piece of cake. And here’s a kicker, the game itself hasn’t really evolved at all. Sure there’s the typical new engines and physics and stuff. But the game is basically a yearly roster subscription. Putting NHL on Switch 2 should be automatic. The handheld market is ready for it. Same with PC. As it stand we are aware that Xbox will be merging into the pc space. So in all likeliness there is already a pc build of the game. Heck just making an Xbox game would be very close to a PC code wise.

I used to buy these games yearly. On PS. I stopped about 7 years ago. I just got bored. But thinking about it on handheld ? That’s new and exciting and less we forget there are some opportunities to innovate within Switch 2 controls. I think they could use this as a testing ground for innovating the game.
