Does the send it ability rely on a vision cone? Tape to tape mentions it in its description but send it does not. Also, does it only activate on break out passes or can it go off anywhere on the ice if the pass is long enough?
Hey there. Mainly, it's distance that causes this to trigger. Vision to some degree as well. Unless you're making a backhand stretch pass, it should be activating.
This is the beautiful ambiguity of this game. Nobody really knows. You’ll have to put on the gold trait, go in practice mode with a friend and see how far away you must be to get it to proc (you’ll see the icon flash underneath you if it works ) my hypothesis is that it has to be a longer pass than the zone ?
Send It is kinda finicky the way it works. The shortest distance it activates seems to be roughly the distance from blue line to blue line. Or, if you're at the blue line of the o zone along the boards and your teammate is near the hashmarks in the slot on the opposite side, Send It will activate.
Where it gets odd is when making out-of-vision passes and where you are on the ice. If I'm in my own zone or in the neutral zone and have my back turned completely to my teammate, Send It will activate so long as I'm the required distance away from my teammate. But, if I'm in the o zone with my back turned to my teammate, Send It will not activate no matter how far I am from my teammate.
For this reason, I generally recommend just using Tape To Tape as it activates far more often and in more scenarios than either of the other two passing abilities.
