The issue here is that one tees are not OP in all modes, playing offline on superstar difficulty, with catered sliders and using Utah - so not a ton of high end players, I have greened a ton that have been blocked, deflected away from the net or stopped by the goalie. The ones that were more a guarantee was when there was a good screen in front of the goalie - that in a large part is realistic - cause if there is a good screen most goalies wont see the shot till its too late.
I am not stating the goalies are perfect, there has been weak goals on both the AI side and user controlled teams and even a few goals that left me baffled on what the goalie was doing. Overall I do feel like the goalies are less swiss cheese like this year on hardest difficulty (I'm not sure what difficulty it set for general online play but I wonder if that is a factor as well).
So if they nerf the one tee in online they could ruin it for the offline player base as well. This the same concern I have for the complaints on the slower pace and stamina issues as well. These concerns don't apply to offline cause you have normal hockey game management, which does not exist or apply to modes like 3's or 6's and I'd go into comp and HUT either, as those are more an arcade experience over a simulated experience.
The difference I'd say for at least myself, I play hockey for what it is, hockey. Win or loss, I don't try to use one feature to try and win a game.
Playing offline on superstar w/ catered sliders
That's why it's different.
Online modes don't have the luxury of adjusting sliders so you're stuck on all-star difficulty and whatever slider settings they post.
You can't counter someone exploiting those settings online- that's a system issue. And to them, higher S% from the point > slot isn't a bug- it's a feature!
Yes, it very much is and the point I was trying to make. The mechanics of one tee, stamina and slower game speed work on a whole but due to how the game is played online it does not work as well. Its how do you find a balance when players who only exploit the game are then compared to a player that plays hockey as a whole?
That is kind of where I'd be unsure how to offer a work around to it. Seeing that they are left in a spot where; do they let a select amount of players ruin what does work overall in the game, by changing it or do they leave it?
What is a balance that works both ways?
