When is NHL 25 coming to Xbox Cloud? and other grievances
Welcome to another post begging for a meager shoestring for PC gamers. It is great that they added NHL 24 to Xbox Cloud gaming, allowing those of us with fast enough internet to stream the game from a PC. I apologize for being sharp, but the issue of playing NHL on PC has been a problem since NHL 10 forwent a PC release, and EA continues to not communicate effectively.
What it is not great is that cloud gaming is touted as a solution to their refusal to develop the game for PC, meanwhile delaying the NHL 25 cloud release by over 5 months as of writing. I understand Madden NFL 25 was released in August and made its way to the cloud in early February. If we follow this schedule, NHL 25 should be released on cloud in the next two weeks or so. The difference is that Madden NFL 25 was released on Windows, and therefore has been purchasable and playable on a Windows PC since August. Because of EA's continued and unexplained refusal to develop NHL for PC and its absence from the cloud, we still do not have an option to play new NHL releases without a console.
The only responses I ever find from EA are things along the lines of "I can assure that we're very aware of the requests for a PC version". This is clearly a non-answer response. Therefore, I am asking myself: When will NHL 25 come to Xbox Cloud, or at least, when will somebody make it clear if/when it is getting released on the cloud at all? Further, when will somebody make it clear why EA continues to refuse to develop NHL for the PC, despite being aware of the demand?
