4nations XP event - Unable to pick country at startup of game

Its been mentionned a couple of times already.

I updated the game, booted in the game. 

Got the fullscreen image for 4Nations but no indications whatsoever for selecting a country. My game was frozen. Had to restart the game and that selection screen never came back as an option to select.

And now, it seems that i'm out of that event and not collecting anything.
