It's unfortunate more don't feel the same way. In recent years there's been a win at all costs mentality that I think is plaguing competitive games. Unfortunate for sure.

yeah, it's been like this since the inception of online random matchmaking.  It's why, back in the day, it was better to join leagues online that had rules/guidelines on respectable play.  I won't stop beating the drum off good, fun, play tho.

I get that. Nobody wants to play someone that's not fun to play. However, you're talking about D1. It's always going to be the sweatiest division. You've probably had a lot of similar opponents in the last couple of divisions also. Not to mention, this style of play is nothing new. I'm not saying it's ok. I'm just saying, it's probably to be expected. This is a hyper-competitive game at the highest levels. Much like other sports games. In the end, it's still a game of skill even if both opponents are taking advantage of the cheese.

Yeah, this is a tough topic.  I know guys that have done this.  The real problem is the game isn't enjoyable at a div 1 level.  Not because of wins or losses, but because of game play.  For every, legit, good player there's 20 that think they're good and are willing to ruin a game for their precious win, that no one cares about.  What we really need is some sort of user rating system.  At the end of the game you give your opponent a grade.  Eventually the ones that want to ruin the game can play by themselves while the rest of us, who just want to have a good, fun, game, can play with each other.  i know this is pie in the sky but I'm tired of what some kids call winning hockey

I get this is frustrating and it's unfortunate it happens. It's also probably pretty difficult to tell whether or not they are purposely losing games to drop divisions unless they're quitting right after the puck drops. We can't exactly force people to stay in D1 though. Regardless, it's understandable that it's frustrating to go up against opponents in lower divisions that should be competing in higher ones.
