Be A Pro Questions?

These are questions I didn't get from the Be  A Pro Deep Dive trailer.

The trailer said we start our career in World Juniors.

World Juniors as your launchpad. Before you ever step onto NHL ice you will put on your country’s colors and compete in the World Juniors. A clutch goal in the gold medal game could push you up the draft board while a poor performance might have you sweating on draft night.

Also said you can get sent down to minors.

Playing in the minors. For the first time in years you can now be sent down to the AHL. If your play slips, you may find yourself back in the minors. Your career path is no longer locked to a straight line from draft to stardom.

My first question is can we play a full season in minors once we get sent down?

Second question can we start are career in minors?

Final third question is can we play in the All Star game this year?

  • I would like some confirmation from EA how an 18yo can get sent down to the AHL. You cannot play in the AHL until you are 20 years old

they said we cannot play in the juniors yet again since NHL 19…. Despite asking for it ever since it was removed. Very mind boggling this hasn’t been reimplemented

Hey there. I looked into your questions.

My first question is can we play a full season in minors once we get sent down?

Depending on how you play, you can spend a full season in the AHL.

Second question can we start are career in minors?

You can start the season in the AHL after the NHL pre-season based on your play.

Final third question is can we play in the All Star game this year?

There will not be an All Star Game.

There is no option to pick a birthday so it's assumed the player is within the rules.

18-year-old players can actually play in the AHL. As long as their birthday is on or before September 15 of each season and they’re 18 or over, they are technically eligible for the American Hockey League, what prevents prospects from making the jump early is a NHL/CHL agreement that states all 18 and 19-year-old players not retained by their NHL squad must be returned to the CHL club that holds their rights. It’s a rule that dates back to 1979 as a way to keep the junior product entertaining which in turn helps put people in seats. It’s why European players and college kids can make the jump right away. It’s also where the “nine game rule” stems from, being an underage player can have nine games in the NHL before their entry-level contract kicks in for the season.

    So yes assume they older.

    Thanks for the clarification.

I still can't believe there still isn't an All Star game in be a pro.
