Be a Pro Rosters

Can someone from EA give me a detailed explanation as to why the rosters on Be a Pro are not accurate? Why is Marner still on Toronto? Why is Clifton still on Buffalo? Why did Buffalo sign Dadanov when he signed with New Jersey?

I expect and demand an explanation promptly. The rosters should be absolutely accurate the day the game comes out. Utterly inexcusable.

The CHL route starts Jan 3 2025 so Marner was on the Leafs at that time and when you get drafted Marner is a free agent and will sign with whatever team. If you go direct NHL you start with whatever roster you have set as active. It's also the reason you will still see Gavin McKenna if you take the CHL route.

Nothing is wrong with how it is set up.

Then why does he always end up with the Leafs? Also why isnt EA explaining this? That is my issue. I dont want a explanation from another game, I want a explanation from EA about why this is happening. Their explanation "just update the roster", is not really a explanation. Do you understand why that is annoying? So your "explanation" is not really helping.

He doesn’t always end up on the leafs. I did this today and he was with the Rangers.
I get it maybe he isn’t understanding it correctly but it does explain why you see him on the Leafs or any other team.

  • It does explain it. But we still haven't got that explanation from EA. Which is annoying. Players shouldn't really have to find it out themselves you know, and more importantly so should they not give that type of an answer. Its not being supportive or really understanding the question. So I am still gonna be annoyed with EAs community managers or whatever title they have that are writing here on the forums for the company.

    This seems to be incorrect.

I have tested this 3 times now with a Be a Pro and 2 different active roster Official Updates from EA. and I am not seeing the updated Rosters ( it still shows the playoff roster that NHL 25 would have had for its final update)

This has been as issue for years, I would say going back to NHL 22 if not from the launch of it; where the Be a Pro does not use any other roster but the default one that is launched with the game. Its one major reason why I stopped playing Be a pro to begin with as this ruins any sort of immersion with the mode.

I thought now that the revamp was done and you stated  in this thread that all it needed was to use the newest roster update, that this issue was resolved. Sadly, that seems to be wrong.

Seeing you stated that it does work, can you please give me the step by step requirements I need to make sure it uses the correct roster in Be a Pro?

EA_Aljo I am looking to confirm if there is any update or status on if this actually works in Be a Pro, and if so, how do you get it to work. When making sure the active roster is the latest one released, the roster being used in the Be a Pro mode is not reflecting that but the launch roster. I added a reply in here with images of this matter but didn't get a response.

The Memorial Cup and Champions Hockey League use a pre-draft roster. If you use the option to start in the NHL, you'll use an updated roster.
