Chel club games

Anybody knows how matchmaking is done calculated ?

if i play drop ins, with random team/players it seems that we get lower lever players/teams against us. 
if i play with my club its the same teams against us (not all time but very often) who are all better and skilled players/teams. 
does divisions make some difference here ?

or is it just club vs club no matter the level or skill ? 

Because some(rare exception) games are ok to play similar skill lever (sometimes hard games to 2-3goals max, but are fun to play) because its not about speed, fancy dekes, rubbish backhands
